Replaced controller,
“ www.amazon.com/dp/B0DKNJSY5L?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title”
wiring did not match. No forward torque, tried swapping hall wires around, and reversing motor wires. Suspect a bad controller. Where can I buy connecters and what controller? 350 Watt motor 48v. Any help is greatly appreciated. Too many hours in this now. Getting very discourage, considering scrapping whole project.

Controller and display are usually committed to each other and not interchangeable with other models/brands.

If your motor runs correctly backwards, it will run correctly forwards when you get the wires assigned right. To make it easy on yourself, you can use a controller with a self learn function.

Thank you for the reply. I have tried every combination of motor phase and hall. It will run forward but it shutters with no forward power. Phasing is not right.
I bought a controller, throttle, and display from Amazon. The display has very good information but the controller has different wire colors than those listed on the paperwork. I have no learning wire the paper works is different than the controller. When I contacted the seller he sent a link to something entirely different than I had bought. When I tried to explained replied. “I can't catch what you mean”.

I managed to get it running! I had misunderstood what was on the net as try all combinations of the phase wires. Try all combination of HALL.
I was thinking of this as all combinations of one then return to original and then all the combinations other as two separate things. I found a post saying that 2 HAL wires as well as 2 phase motor wires should be reversed.

To reverse a BLDC motor, you swap two phase wires and then try different Hall combinations until it works. That's what I always heard to do and what I always did.

Nowadays, I prefer to use a controller with learning wires and get all the colors matched up as if they were intended that way.

I am new to the e bike thing and will be watching some videos on the controllers. I misunderstood some post with no luck until I did it as you said changing the motor wires and hall.. Wife has around 10 miles on it now and all is well.
