I've been using http://leonard.io/edd/ (previously called: http://lenni.info/edd/) for calculating the spoke lengths on my wheel builds with much success. Every spoke I have needed has been perfectly calculated.

But yesterday, I was on the Xtracycle Facebook page (trying to order one of the 2013 Edgerunners shipping in Sept) and found this really cool wheel building calculator that goes into detail overload about the wheel! you can even register and save your wheel calcs. Here is the URL http://wheelspoking.com/Build.aspx?Mode=Advanced.

I think that people trying to build advance wheels and difficult patterns that are sometimes conjured up in the ebike world will benefit from this! This will certainly help me decide what size wheels and cross pattern will be optimal.

Happy wheel building!

Looks great. I just used to verify my new 24inch wheel build for my son. Though, with a spoke cutter + Hozan thread tool, I end up erring on the long side on purpose, because I can always cut the spokes and create new thread. That's why I find I don't care about single millimeters anymore.

Thanks for posting, this is the most comprehensive spoke calc I have seen yet.

Looks nice! but when I click on the question marks it doesn't work

ps: Actually you have to leave your mouse on the question mark for few second for the comments to appear
