Hello! I just got a rear torque sensing All-Axle with a Superharness and 48v battery. All in all, I am very satisfied with the purchase, I've alas encountered quite a few bugs with this new device and I was wondering if some of you have fixes for some of them.
Here is what pushed me towards the Superharness setup:
- Sleek display;
- Non tech girlfriend friendly (its a family cargo bike);
- Awesome Regen options:
- Main reason: Having a display that works in cold Quebec weather as I've had various reports of the CA not displaying under certain temps (if any of you have had success in sub -15C with the CA3, please share!)
And here are a few problems I encountered:
- Front light out seems shorted and the front light will be on as soon as the battery is turned on. Superharness config changes nothing to its state. This is an issue that seems more widespread among adopters;
- I'm not too sure exactly when, but in high torque/high power scenarios, the torque sensor's signal will drop to zero suddenly cutting out assistance until I backpedal. This can be pretty rough when climbing hills; An error code is briefly shone on the display.
- At seemingly random times, the ebrake light will turn on and send a brake signal to the controller effectively turning on aggressive regen. This can be a safety hazard depending when it happens.
- The variable regen using the throttle unfortunately doesn't work for me. Also, I can't enter configuration mode when the throttle is connected;
Grin has offered an RMA and I'll be sending the harness shortly in hopes these various issues can be corrected, its a little tough since this bike is my main means of transportation. I also noticed production has been interrupted on their website. I wonder if its because of these various issues.
