Great find! I want some of these a) for my house battery storage and b) for an ebike with 1500 watt-hours of battery.

Hot Damn, and Panasonic has a battery factory here. When I checked last year they were doing all small stuff, all smaller than 18650 cell sizes for cameras and stuff. Hopefully that has changed. This time I'll go on my e-bike for visit in person, since it's just a couple of miles from my new house. While pursuing a direct Bosch connection I forgot all about Panasonic, so thanks for the reminder. Probably too good to be true, but definitely worth a shot, especially since they do manufacturer some types of lithium cells here.

Bummer, I stopped by today to get the info for making an appointment. I got through to a person who sounded like they knew what they were talking about, and apparently the facility here doesn't make any rechargeable lithium cells, much less in an 18650 size or larger. Oh well, it was worth a shot. Now I'm back to trying to set up a meet with the Bosch regional rep for Central America next time he's in-country, so I can pitch some of my ideas.
