Yeah I want to know if they will sell assembled packs. ~$650 for 98 cells without shipping for 51.8V21.7Ah battery.

I have not seen this packs on taobao.

you can search items on taobao yourself through http://www.yoybuy.com
for example search for "NCR18650A" -> http://www.yoybuy.com/en/Product/Search?Keys=NCR18650A

No way they would make a pack and still sell it at same price as individual cells. Once they put them together, they have to replace the whole pack if one the cell fails. It would not surprise me if they charge 50% premium for a small 500Wh pack and 100% for 1kWh or more.

$136 is what Dell wants for a 6 cells, 48Wh pack. That's $2.83/Wh.

Of course Dell's profit margin is stratospheric but the idea is the same.

by the way soldering NCR18650A is very easy, this is not a123 evil contacts xD

Cells are probably Panaphonies and not Panasonics... I've never see a legit and/or properly spec'd 18650 cell come out of China. Caveat emptor... :evil:

However, it is pity i can not open the link: http://www.yoybuy.com/en/Product/Search?Keys=NCR18650A
It shows that:
yoybuypage.jpg

and find some here:
because YOYBUY automatically filter batteries from search, because yoybuy do not work with batteries.

I used this direct link
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=15981472634&spm=2014.12001318.0.0
THROUGH -> WWW.TAOBAOTRENDS.COM - this agent!!
$6.64 is price that I got include shipping to my expensive-shipping country Russia.

You could buy a Tesla Model S and get over 7000 cells for around $50,000. You keep the batteries, and I'll take the carcass off of your hands for free :twisted:

Interested to see if these are legit or not :)

Cycle count life?

Received 115 pcs Panasonic NCR18650A.

I checked capacity of random element.

0.3C discharge
1st cycle: 2300mah to 3V, 2850mah to 2.5V
2nd cycle: 2500mah to 3V, 3050mah to 2.5V

my new 24V pack:

You may have an extra wire from cell block to cell block. As I have goon from start to end of one cell block then one wire on end of parelle to begining a next cell block to a connection wire to beginging of next cell block. As running thru the full parelle group. Don't know if right or wrong just the way I have done it. Maybe I need that extra wire ? On each cell block ?

need extra wire if you planning replace elements in pack in future, because after many cycles internal resistance will be different
i am not planning, so no problems xD

14-17A my working amperage on 24V geared light hub.
So it less than 1C :)

I used
glue gun http://www.yoybuy.com/en/Show/8195963978

it depends on your climate and discharge current, but the hot glue does tend to melt at some of the higher but relatively normal cell temps, seems to me from using it on 18650's that hot glue goes soft at a lower than full melt temps.

received $4.2 each with shipping through black hole xD

There is >2500 wt/h
