Miles,
Don't you think a company that tries to sell a 59,500 euro ebike deserves to go bankrupt? I do. I'm not saying there's no market to the super rich for such expensive toys, but they need to be custom built bikes, not something you post prices of publicly. The sad part is that the company had debt and needed to declare bankruptcy, because their business plan didn't qualify for any loan or investment.

That whole world of "luxury" ebike status symbols seems ridiculous to me. I'm not sure they deserved to go bankrupt for taking part in it, though... 59,500 euros obviously wasn't enough.... :)

Not surprised at all, i'm not sure how they had any buyers at those kind of prices.

They did sell very expensive bikes (way too expensive actually) BUT I have to say that the quality of their bikes was really great. Also if you read their "words" they actually rebuild/restructure their company. Their last models weren't build with clean mobile drive but with dual hub motors.
From what I have seen, their bikes were mostly sell to company which wanted to use them as advertisement support. We have here (in Regensburg also) a bunch of PG-bikes repainted and sigled at the name of well known companies (Like Sparkasse or Conrad for instance)
I did ride one once. Not the blacktrail but a blackblock. This bike was really awesome (and I drive dailly a Mac/12Fet/48V at 2,5KW cruiser) The quality is above anything I tried here and the "finish" is really there... but again.. the price is a joke.
They have sold a lot of bikes on ebay lately for 2500€ which is a pretty good price for such bikes I think that buyers will be really happy with it.
Finally we have seen in Germany in the last year a lot of models for 2,5-3,5 K€ I think that the concurence was too hard and even if the quality of life here in Germany is quite good, not everybody is ready to pay 5K€ for a "electrised bicycle) ;)
Thats anyway pretty good for my little business here ^^
Gruß
H.
