I first started by watching this which got me even more confused but I think I got it.

I have two questions about both planetary gears and also hub motors.

Do any electric hub motors offer a multiple planetary gearset in the hub? It seems like it can be engineered possible with the use of some clutches inside the hub...

My second question is, do they offer something like this for an electric vehicle? I am thinking about converting a car over now already having done a bike.

Thanks for any input.

Thats pretty cool thanks.

But that seems to be only bicycle street legal. Nobody is making a more high power dual or more speed hub?

I am looking for 2000 watts plus for a bicycle and 20kW plus for a car. Still researching.

Thanks though that is pretty cool!

You may be interested in NuVinci 170. It's a CVT - continuously variable transmission. This particular model can handle 4kW and it is automatic - will keep motor at best efficiency/torque/whatever you like while accelerating.
There is one for sell in market forum.
