Power and speed limit Currie mid drive on Yuba Spicy Curry

Hi

We're looking at getting a Yuba Spicy Curry for my wife here in the US. The slight wrinkle is we are also planning on being in the UK for the next two years and we're planning on shipping the bike across. I was wondering if anyone had any experience reprogramming the Currie Mid-Drive motor (TransX) to comply with UK electric bike laws (250 watts, 15.5 mph max).

That's a great riding cargo bike..congrats. But unless they inspect it when you bring it in, sane riding should keep you from getting noticed.... It would suck to get it impounded though.

Voltron, that's kind of what I'm worried about and/or liability issues if we get involved in a collision of some kind. I've been trying to dig up info on the internet about reprogramming Currie drives but no luck so far

Yes, and that TransX drive is surprisingly fast too.
