Hello
I found no extra Area for Quads, so i post one of my project here.

I bought a cheap 800 - 1000W Quad and made following changes
LiMn Batterypack 12S10P - 30AH capacity
Kelly KBS48010 controller - (Settings to about 3KW continious)
CA for more information
stronger Rear Swing (the original broke verry easy)

Max Speed is about 35km/h
I drive allready about 400km with the Quad - everything works fine

On the pictures i put snow chains on it, for better trackin on the snow.

It works very fine and the Quad is perfect to having Fun with my children.

If annybody has question - i will answer it.

Cool upgrades! As far as I know these are for teenagers and below? As they have a 70kg weight limit?
I think there is a lacking in adult Electric quad bike market. I think because everyone's a spec head, they would rather buy a Chinese ICE quad bike that under perfect conditions on a air port runway they can hit max speed of 80km/h when in reality isn't very safe to ride over 35km/h.

I would prefer a practical adult sized electric quad bike just to get around on in farming type work.

Quad bikes are becoming one the biggest silent killers in AU on farms. It's harsh and probably unfair to say it but they seem to be a real numbskull magnet, (btw I own a ice quad bike)

Hello
i think quads are a verry good option - just for transport or other things.

The Quad is normaly a 1000W Quad and rated for 150ccm.
They told me that the Quad also fits for adult people - i can confirm that.
It depands mainly on the power.
I put out all chines wires - because they are scrap.
At my first test - a plug begin to burn - because of about 25Amps - the plug was not ratet for that.
I changed the complete electric power wireing and everything works fine.

I can drive with the quad (about 90kg and two children5year / 3years ) nearly up every hill - no problem.
But i take care - if i have my children with me. Its possible that the Quad could skip.... that happens allready to me - when i drive alone....

after my modification the Quad is fine, for that what i want to do with that.
A quad with more power would be good - perhaps to pulling a trailer - but this quads are quiet expensive.

I think it would be no problem to improve my quad - with about max of 5KW and a top speed of 45km/h.
That would be no problem - but i do not need this.

For me the quad is a fun vehicle - and thats it. I take the quad if i want not do take the car.

There is an picture what i do in winter with my kids... the like to play in snow - and for fun the quad is verry good

I wish they sold those in the states. Looks like their Mx bikes would be fun. Much better looking and seem to be higher quality than our Razor products. At least they give you a 1000w option. Razor has a 650w as their biggest motor.
That isn't the stock motor on your build, is it?

Hello
Do mean the large version of the Quad or the "child" version

At my adult version there you could see the std. motor - brushless Motor - i think ratet for about 1,5KW.
The brand of the motor is Younaite motor
But the Motor could take more - it is not getting realy warm / hot at 4KW Peak.
A cooling Fan is integrated at the rear.
I only replaced the controller to an "good" one - good running Kelly Controller.
Its also good, that its now possible to do some individual settings.

Some pictures of the Child Version from my kids.
The "Child" version uses a brushed motor with 650W - 800W.

this child quad is about 3 Years old, an run about 1500km.... it still works

The basis of the quads are good - after replacing some parts the quads are verry good.

If there are some questions left, feel free to ask.

I would take either the adult or child version. We don't have the option for either one here in the states. Importing one would likely make it too costly. Where did you end up buying this? I might try and talk to a shop and see what options I would have for shipping.

I found a local AU seller, so some one has the guts to sell them. Like I said I think because of the moddest speed they aren't likely to appeal to wider masses because everyones a "spechead"

I have seen them on ebay listings now and then I am convinced the reason I don't see any right now is because ebay sellers have pulled/paused their listings due to the holiday season. Just wait a week or so into January and start searching for "electric quad atv" and be mindful that the majority that are likely to show up are going to be kids models which in photo close up look just like a full-medium sized quad.

Hello
There exists some different type of this quad.
I have an middle drive Motor with an chain back to the wheels.
I think this is an good solution.

There exists models with HubMotors - i think this could be not so good.

But i only can give a feedback to my model
