Here is an overview of my E-Bike project.
1st its going to be a tadploe recumbent, all aliminum construction.
2nd simple zig zag shaped frame made from 3 1/2 inch 1/4 inch thick round tubeing ( i should have gone with 4 inch square tubing !)
3rd their will be three sourses of power.
1. pedals ( Human power.. still havent figuired out how to get my cts to pedel for me
)
2. electric i was thinking of a 1000w 48v electric scooter motor but changed my mind wen i saw what was possible with RC outrunners.
3. gas ( sorry ) for long distance runs and maybe charging....but mainly to be able to be able to get this bike licenced as a 50cc scooter (street legal ! )
front wheels are 16inch BMX rims (wery strong) mounted on MTB 20mm axel hubs with 8 inch disk breaks. mounted with heavy duty spooks. these cost me about 200$ each!
rear wheel is form a Honda PA 50 moped, it already has a 5.5;1 gearbox and a freewheel chain drive on one side and the belt drive gearbos input on the other. and the funn pare is the gearing has an on off switch.
the main tubing frame serves multiple functions 1st its a frame!
2nd the rear section serves as the fuel tank with a 5 liter fule capacity.
3rd the front part of the tube frame serves as the battery box. !! Thus the comment ( i should have used a 4inch square tubeing.)
which would have been a nice fit for lipo packs!
i am also planing on making a cowling or just a flip up bubble
