i was wondering if anyone has worked with the motor from a professional like cordless drill you know the ones with the 2 speed transmision and brushless rc motor?

what i wonder is are rc motors the same screw size and layout and is the shaft the same diameters?

my project i would like to replace the motor in a cordless drill with a brushless rc motor.

i placed this in this section since it had nothing to do with ev usage.

i wanted to know if it would work because i recycle scrap metal and i have http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXeC-iMo4xs that is powered by a drill and seeing how difficult it is to get a brushed esc that can handle the demands i am considering converting a drill to brushless motor to power the copper extractor.

You'll probably get more responses if you make a new thread in the non-hub E-bike section, and then delete this one. Here a drill transmission thread:

My apologies. As a token of my remorse, here is a drill transmission post from a long time ago:

I only meant to say that, the people with the most experience with RC motors and drill transmissions 'might' not read the general info section for weeks at a time. But, I believe they check into the non-hub section quite often.

Once you strip the drill down, and see what size diameter the shaft is, someone may already know where to find an adapter to connect the two easily, rather than having a custom coupling made. Best of luck, sounds interesting. Please keep us posted on how it turns out.

no but some users use the read all unread messages button instead of reading and bookmarking a specific url.

it looks like the distance is the same because i found out that rc cars are all the same so you can upgrade an old brushed car to brushless

i had pulled the motor and gearbox from an old car and the motor from a drill and the screws look the same spacing.

then big thing is that the pinion gear may be different.
