Very respected in the hobby, we lost a good one last week. Richard was one of the most knowledgeable DIY EV enthusiasts I had ever spoken with. Broke down how the EV systems worked with endless skill, shared for all users. His group on Fb was small, but one of my most respected and well enjoyed. very active in his hobby: very educated. Always with opinion, solid pinions, of the quality of the items we see on the market.

I was about to send him a full datalogging setup, in the search for data: for his was stolen last year. he needed it and I was super excited. I wanted to give this guy something... he workd so hard. Alas, Richard has passed away in the means while. Very sad for me, without many friends, or seriousness taken, in the EV world, to see him gone. There have been some wonderful learning experiences. Actually answered the questions I had. Completly, with understanding, and taught me things i didnt know.

That is a shame, I just heard about this yesterday as I was sharing one of his Youtube videos. Very smart guy with a sharp tongue and wit to match it. I think I might have corresponded to him a few days before he passed. The community is certainly that much dimmer without him.

I often saw a lot of myself in him in terms of inquisitive, opinionated, and a master hobbiest. I enjoyed his videos tremendously. I am unsure of how he died, I can only hope that his strong feelings about the individuals in this hobby did not poison his health. I do my best not to let those I disagree with drag down my mental and physical health. At least I try to.......

That's bad news. He sounded like a young guy based on his Youtube videos, many of which I watched. I have no idea what the circumstances were regarding his time on this site, but I was absolutely inspired to start building ebikes by one of his extensive posts under his handle Electric God. RIP.
