Reverse with this Motorcontroller

Hello everyone

I am building a small go-kart for my youngest son. I have two brushless motors (250W each) from an old hoverboard and two motor controllers with 3 different speeds. The motors run very well with these motor controllers and the different speed levels are perfect. Unfortunately, this controller lacks a reverse gear. Is it possible to add this? Unfortunately there is no DC input on this controller board (as is the case with another controller with reverse). Many thanks

While I can't speak to the controller, because who knows what each of those PCB traces connects to and does, I can say that one of the easy ways to reverse the direction of a motor is by trading two of the phase wires. If the amps are low enough, there are some switches you could find and wire up that would allow you to redirect the phase current such that you are swapping phases to a reverse mode.

Thank you very much. I found out through a video on youtube from EV-Customs that you can check the different outputs and inputs and found out that my controller on A2 (when connected to ground) has the reverse function. For all those who have the same problem I recommend to measure the different unused inputs and outputs... Have a lot of fun!
