For most forks and front hubs having a disc brake means the left hand spoke flange needs to be moved inward relative to the right side spoke flange. This reduction in distance between spoke flanges does two things: 1) reduction in lateral stiffness and 2) unequal spoke tension between right and left side the severity of which is determined by the relative distance of each flange to the midline of the fork centerline
So for a front hub motor equipped with Regen what is more important to you: increased lateral stiffness and equal spoke tension or having the disc brake rather than the rim brake?
