I'm guessing at 5mph (8kph) there's no need for any steering. Just pretend your skating for the first time and baby walk in the direction your going.

I roller skate a lot (or did till pulled my groin) and coming from that perspective these things are rediculous. Heavy, loosely held to your foot, barely any thane and likely very rough anywhere but the airport, they don't let you skate in the airport unless you keep it on the dl, these are not on the dl, they look like a huge amount of complexity, engineering, and construction and probably cost.
These look like someone who didn't know how to skate might think they'd be easier but surely they're not. I don't speak French, I know they're into skating or bladding over there but in my mind these will end up in a closet. Best thing I can think for these is to take them apart and throw them on a skateboard. I forecast there will be no electric roller skate section on this site

Actually, roller skates would actually be pretty sick!

Imagine your electric longboard/skateboard except on your foot. You can step up or down from a sidewalk. Maneuverability would be much easier. I actually wouldn't mind them if they just didn't look so eww.

Maybe. If it was like those sneaks that had the heel wheel that came out. Heelies I think they're called. You can't comfortsbly go over ten or 15 on quads really, in line yes. And if you do hit a bump at even five you could be going down with no foot out to save you. A skateboard is safer to me and everyone already thinks the elec board is dangerous.
