Not sure why the title "self powered"... but anyway, this is a site run out of Texas I believe, just news and links about EVs:

If you poke around the site a bit (I am always curious who is doing the work) you will see it is run by a guy named David Luckenbach, and that he was diagnosed with brain and lung cancer in May 2009... shitty deal for who seems like a nice guy (sailing instructor.)... In addition to the pages about EVs he has been blogging all about his experiences fighting the cancers.
