Lots of good folks on ES helping out folks new to electrics... Often times an initial post needs to be fleshed out before it can be answered in any useful way... Meaning folks curious about electrics need to outline their needs and wants. So it occurs to me it'd be nice for folks to have an outline of their "Mission Statement" as a form to fill in the blanks?

Some of these questions are easy and others...not so much... but is there anything you can add? :

Longest distance on one charge
Average speed
Top speed
Acceleration
How much stop and go (stops per mile or km)
Weight of vehicle
Weight of passenger
Weight of cargo
Where will battery be mounted
Topography - percent of trips up/down hills and steepness
Headwinds - Windspeed
Ambient temperatures - minimum and maximum
Moisture - rain and snow and slush
Onroad or offroad
House loads - lighting, music, instrumentation
Type of bicycle - recumbent or..., type of metal, suspension, folding, gearing
Type of road surfaces - smooth pavements, dirt tracks, snow, slush
Where will bike be parked - indoors, up stairs
Percent human-assist

Hehe... thought about "budget"... really it's set by the needs and available product and opportunity costs, EVen though folks curious about electrics may have other ideas... And legalities... Yah, guess so, good point, `cept that I have been so outside the laws for so many years I tend to overlook that stuff...

I think another question to put into the mix might be, power assist, or powered bike too.

big Big BIG difference between the two, completely different agenda for someone looking to stay light (i.e. I want to be able to comfortably pedal home when batts die) verses someone who just wants raw power.

Budget is usually one of the first criteria in a bicyclist's mind when they think about joining the dark side.

I would add:

How much skill/time/space do you have for adding a kit and doing self maintenence later.
