So I have been running this motor for a good 2 years now and then in both warm and cold weather.
Now its autumn here in sweden and the risk of overheating the motor got to be almost none.

I was going at my usual 30mph transportation pace. Motor draws around 20A from my 12s lipo pack.
In a slight uphill I felt the motor rpm fluctuating abit so I pulled over and checked what was going on.
The esc (ccp160) was handwarm as usual nothing strange there, no smells. But the motor did smell abit burnt electronics.
It did still work when turning the throttle, but I decided to turn the electric part off and just ride with pedalpower the rest of the trip.
The motor has a centrifugal clutch on it so its possible to just freespin it with the hand, and i could fell that it wasnt as smooth as it usually is.

When I got home I took it apart and measured the phases. No direct short, but it smells like somethings wrong.
THere was some junk in it aswell that might have caused the feel of it not rotating entirely free.

I am abit puzzeled to what happened, as the motor has been through much worse treatment.
At first I thought bad bearing, but all 3 seem ok.
THe smell is evidence something is bad and I would not want to risk the phoenix 160.
I am thinking rewinding it.
What do you guys suggest?
