I have a question about the cyclone motor...I am currently installing two 650 watt cyclone motors on a 4 wheel bicycle and I wanted to know if it's fine to push the bike in reverse? It may seem like a dumb question but I haven't worked with electric motors before and I can't spin the motors back by hand but with the momentum of the bike they feel like they will, the bike weighs about 130 kilos...but haven't tried yet as installation unfinished....Is reversing them ok? will it damage the motors?
Thanks for any info
Paul

My bike with a 300W cyclone motor (planetary gearbox attached) turns the motor backwards when you push the bike backwards due to the way all the freewheels locking up. The motor resists due to cogging caused by the magnets in the motor and the gearbox multiplies the force required to turn it backwards.

Its worse if I leave my bike in the wrong gear as it makes it quite hard to roll backwards but I don't believe the motor / gearbox is damaged by it. You can clearly feel and hear this as you roll the back backwards.
