Kinda strange place to ask the question...

But no, if that package gets opened, it will be impounded.

They are illegal here.

Google probably picked up the reference to Brett's Slingshot trike in Australia

Heh. I got $5 internet dollars that says you're right.

Wrist Rockets! Love 'em... BB guns... M16 rifles... 9-Eminems... good fun.

Wouldn't be too hard to just DIY... buy:

-stainless steel rod. You can make a template from a wire hanger. Use a vise grip and pipe bending bits.

-high quality, highly elastic rubber hose from rehab or health shops.

-a thick strip of leather

-some ball bearings

-Use gun shooting goggles or a face shield for eye protection.

Man, you can take down some deer!

Racoons?

Ok, birds and squirrels. ...

Those are illegal???

I had one about 30 years ago....must not have been illegal then.

Maybe I'll just make a rail gun

I don't think it would be a problem. I live in uptight California and you can walk into a well known retail sports equipment shop called BIG 5 and pick up a nice slingshot with all kinds of upgrades to them! I just don't know what the laws are when bringing one into the US.

Not quite the forum to be asking this kinda question..... LOL...

What kinda batts does the slingshot run on? J/K.... hehe

I got mine from Wal-Mart.

I can't hit a friggin' styrofoam cup from 5 feet away, I'm such a bad shot with it. On the other hand, I can clip a quarter with an airsoft gun from across the yard. Ask my friend who once tried to cheap his way into a win by covering himself with towels. His knuckles looked pretty painful after I got through with them.

They are illegal in some states. I thought California was one of them, but a previous poster has indicated otherwise.
Little kids or adults can carry them into public places, with impunity, in other States.
I have no idea what the Federal Customs agents would say. But I'd bet that if you reduced it to its component parts and packed the pieces in separate pieces of luggage that you could get through, 9 times out of 10.

Just be careful, and don't shoot anyone's eye out.

Indeed, that was my first suspicion.

First and only post + an irrelevant topic placed somewhere irrelevant + links to a commercial product or company = SPAM.

Made some pretty wicked slingshots back in the day. 3 passes of thick wall 1/2" surgical rubber tubing. Steel frame where the yoke was about 2ft in front of the hand holding the sling shot, and made the brace go all the way up to the shoulder. Took all my strength to pull it back 4ft or so. Only took an hour or so with a vise and a welder to build, with a materials cost of about $20. I remember oblong objects like crushed gravel pieces and things would make crazy "zing" sounds like a bullet ricochet as they went through the air. Crazy penetration into trees and things. Bury a rock 3" deep into a tree with that thing. Ball bearings were the only thing it ever shot with any accuracy. Pretty decent weapon for something you can make with everyday materials for dirt cheap, easily disguiseable, it's silent, and the ammo is untraceable pebbles.

O...k...

Don't bother trying to get one into Aus, it will be confiscated.

Only if it has wrist brace your "standard" hand held sling shot
are fine (unless they changed the laws recently?)

"Slingshots with a wrist or forearm brace are prohibited under the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956 unless prior permission has been obtained.
"

I would suggest calling Australian customs prior to ordering to make 100% sure... Customs
1300 363 263

I bought a Strike 9 (identical to the Stock Number: 271201 but WITHOUT wrist brace) from local
sports story years ago always wanted one of the Falcon sling shots (Identical to the Pro Sling shot
at that link) when i was younger guess i could make myself a ripper now, bit big for such toys though
i guess haha... You can get ones now that have counter weights off the front of them also like Bows
have on them, all a bit more complex than cutting a "Y" branch from a tree and using inner tube rubber ...

KiM

p.s Luke...Bag of marbles are cheaper than ball bearings hehehe... Had some fun when young knocking pigeons out of the tree on the vacant block next store...teach them too shit on me damn flying rats...

KiM- I just got this visual of you making some slip-fit ends that fit onto the upward bent yokes of your handlebars, and turn the front of your trike into a monster slingshot. lol

Ah wristrockets ! I had one, it was lethal. I remember shooting a sparrow out of the sky with a chunk of gravel once. I thought the neighbor lady was gonna swat me she was so upset. One time I hit something and she had to see it.
