Hello!

Can someone tell me how good the new C80100 130kv ( The motor with the screws in the bell ) is? Expecially the bearings and the glued magnets?
And can you say me what the screws in the bell are for?

Thanks in advance

anything i say about the motor magnets will subjective...not enough time on that specific motor to make a determination.

The screws are holding the aluminum end & skirt bearing holder onto the steel flux ring/can.

Ok thanks for that.
But you you do not have them reglued ?

Can anyone other tell me how the magnets are glued, or if the have to be reglued or something?

The only turnigy motors I have had "thrown" magnets on are the 50mm series "sk" series when run for extended periods that got them very hot.

For a closer compairison I have about an hour on an 80-85/170 that has been run at about its limits at 66v & 72v (geard in the 40mph range on a 24" wheeled bike) that is factory tight & running well.
not really enough time to be a real evaluation. I will say the magnets are glued more securly by compairison to the smaller motors. Full fill in between the magnets & not the hit & miss dribble in the lil' motors.

hope that helps, others here have a lot more time on these than I.

Thanks, but i want to wait, what the others mean.

Every magnet on my C8085 170kv is not really glued on, the are holding just because they are magnetic ;)
Thats why i want to know if the new motors are better !?

I assure you they are glued. You are likely only seeing the insert placed in after the magnets are glued if the glue is not visible.

My new style 80-100 (with the screws) has more glue between the magnets then my old style 80-100 (without the screws). I think the new style is better because of the extra bearing on the skirt.

Have read a few posts about thrown magnets but never for the Big Turnigy 130 & 170kv motors. I have the 130kv myself and disassembled the motor to apply additional glue after reading
of the problems others had with the other models, i dunno if my motor was an exception or not but it had oodles of glue around the magnets, i applied more as i had it apart but IMO mine didn't need it, i would check your motor though rather than take it for granted that they are sufficiently glued as it only takes a few minutes to disassemble them.

I run the V1 model myself so can't comment on the skirt bearings, haven't had an issue with my motor thus far :: touch wood:: Everything else has broke but the motors been good....be the next thing to go now i have givin it praise no doubt :-S Aywayz, they have HEAPS of grunt you will be well pleased with the power..

So, it is better when I buy a new one? Because every magnet on my motor is not really glued on.
Thats right?

Here's some info on the motor

I presently fly two in a large Hanger 9 P-47 and a Hanger 9 P-51. Both vehicles go like stink and let the world know about it swinging 22 and 24 inch props on 10 to 12 cells. The early motors had poor bearing and were normally changed out before first flight but the cost was still better than buying something like a large Hacker at four times the price. The new motors have a much larger and stronger bearing in the aft end and the retaining rings for the magnets are screwed into the case housing instead of glued and work much better. I've been extremely pleased by the large motors. ed
