Hi All, I just purchased a Schwinn Amalgam ebike. It only have three setting for speed - low, medium, and high. The low is too fast for me and I need something with finer controls and a throttle. There is a 5 pin connector and attached is the photo of the controller. The controller says it has only 3 setting so that tell me I also need to swap out the controller. There are like 100s of different controller on amazon all with less that 30 reviews so not sure which one to use. Don't want to burn out the motor.

Any suggestion on a great controller/ throttle / display combo kit is much appreciated.

You can get a KT controller of the same power level and size, with any one of a bunch of different displays that are customizable for power levels, speed levels, PAS response, throttle ramp-up, and overall current limit. LCD4 is the smallest one, and it can go on either side of the handlebar. LCD11 has a smart compact format, and it has a few more settings than the others I've tried, but it only goes on the left. LCD3 is the "large print edition" that's easy to read.

That is great info. I am okay with left hand controls. Can you recommend a specific KT controller and LCD display? I see tons of them with mixed reviews on amazon.

Get a 15 amp KT controller that has the right kind of plugs for your bike. You can choose a trapezoidal wave version which is slightly cheaper and purportedly a little more efficient, or a sine wave controller which is quieter. Get whichever KT display you like; all of them work with KT controllers. Its plug must match the controller's, though.
