I was riding around today and I passed quite a few mailmen/ mailwomen doing what they do best, deliver our goods. It occurred to me that when I was young I remember seeing Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, a PBS kid show who had a neighborhood mailman (what's his name?) who delivered mail via a bicycle. Is there a reason why USPS doesn't allow their mail carriers to deliver via bicycle instead of an ICE vehicle, especially if your territory is within a 10 mile radius of the post office? And wouldn't it be cool to allow them to deliver mail using a electric bike? Bet their shoulders would appreciate it...

The usps guy that runs stuff to the area around the bike shop is hardcore. He drives his van to the middle of the area and uses it like "home base" and then walks the whole route. Huge props to him, as it was 17f at noon yesterday and he was trucking through the snow in boots and shorts  : shock:

Mr Mcfeeley was "speedy delivery" in the Mr Rodgers show. Watched it every day with my young kids and it really kooled them out. Great stuff!
