Many home-made examples below.
Pick any or all or none?

---
The YT examples below are not necessarily ebike related...concept inspiring, possibly?

---
CAN TEACH any of you who have, or can beg/borrow a hundred dollar digicam, how
to make show and share instructionals; imo, more concise and interesting than words and still images alone.
Words are abstract things and can mean too many different things to various people, not the writer's intent.
Moving pictures with voiceover puts the humans onto the same wavelength.

---
The following YT videos are NOT on the E.S. server and do not junk up the board, n i c o b i e

______________start of examples, first is an HD vid, then the others are done with a three year old SD mini digicam (slim pocket style).

1)
world's very first plug-in appliance motor, 1887,
running on just 12VDC instead of its rated 110DC.
Series wound, bipolar; carbon brushes were not yet invented.

2)
ancient recipe, black varnish (not a "paint"), blackest black in all of nature;
how to apply the stuff I made myself from scratch. This is "OEM" baking enamel of the 1890s.
ALL of the early bikes were "japanned", and when new, it is a super-tough, wet-look perfect BLACK.

Can't play 'em because of lack of broadband?
Then, please,
do yourself a favour and get broadband as soon as possible?

Then MAKE easy and quick videos, instead of writing, either incomplete, or enigmatic replies,
as I too often do.

3)
the first fully waterproof ebike battery: a sealed PING pack.
YT now provides a great variety of FREE music to put to your video instead of your voice.

Then please to make for us and for youself, some E.S specific 'instrutional'?
These help you, too, to remember, later, how some cog a fits to some post 'B', and in which direction.
"Win" at the first try, by not mal-re-assembling your gear. Photograph everything?
Not all of us are seasoned bike mechanics. Every job I do here is a first-time experience, nearly so.

4)
spoken word, plus -action-, is best here

Do you have a Windows-based PC with "Windows Movie Maker" in its operating system?
IF SO, I can make an easy instruction, showing by (Cam mounted to tripod, how we can make a simple, quick tech video;

VIDEO is rapidly OBSOLETING the pure-printed word. Fact. It's happening faster and faster every day.

Kind regards to all, even to not-pleasant-lately, nicobie. I'd teach him too.
Maybe he can teach me
to teach how
to make
and affix
a thi
ng
or
2?
---bollocks! :D

lols, but really,

peace,r

OR going "Words Gone Wild", reid style.

There's automatic software that will generate "ipod" versions of the video that are more bandwidth friendly.

That's good to learn.
I don't have an Ipod nor will I own one.
But others will want to have tiny images which need much less bandwidth to download the videos.
I can't see detail on tiny screens, or I'd Ipod this stuff too.

As it is, all these videos are put to the public domain, free for all to convert,
edit, trim, or trash, as they like.
I only wish to retain author attribution/credit.

Point. Compare this old thread, now obsolete, to the new topic thread about
http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12716
VITAL, DIGITAL CAMERA INFO for your ebiking; a thread worth-reading!

carry a digicam instead of a gun?
get that plate number? chat with the passers-by?
show the speed of your steed?

______________

Fact: video on the 'net is here today, and you guys have stories to tell
from, and of, your ebikes. Moving pictures tell much more than mere still shots.

A $75 used, two or three year old, tiny digicam with video, will do you a world of wonder
and maybe save your life, or WITNESS for somebody in trouble.

And you can make talky-techy videos.

POINT: and shoot: VIDEO is the wave of the future, not mere still shots.
We no longer must hand-crank a magneto-ringer'd telephone, to beg female Central Operator,
"may I speak to Heaven please? that's where my dad and momma live."

song originally penned, and popular long ago, about 1915,
performed here, in, it seems, about the year, 1944:

zoot????? it is time, high time, for broadband. the future is there already.

While video may be the finest method of documentation and illustration, it is not the most efficient method for indexing and accessing the contents.

We may someday have the technology to easily derive context from "looks like" and "sounds like" and "moves like"; but it will not come close to the efficiency of "written like", which has extended knowledge across all continents for centuries (and now powers the miracle of Google).

The written "Tell" will almost always benefit from "Show"; however, "Show" may never be found amid the noise without "Tell", in text.

By all means, keep shooting and write well enough that others can find it.

The Puck returns for this posting only.
He hovers above (as he's wont to do)

and wedges words s'in
to full-take-down
good Tyler Durden...

...Tyler Durden...puts good stuff in...to...
...perhaps a Civic, such as Honda,
so his buddies race around-ah
Durden...flashing ricer-ramma.

:twisted:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PUCK is in blue. Stand by while PUCK murders a glass of water and wakes up.
Text to appear between his quote-box lines.
Utterly demolishing, text, text of truth
to ruin Tyler's day. Mab, I love him, though....
:lol: PUCK YOU :lol: SEE #37C now embedded several postings above?
It is MUCH clearer than the printed sheet of directions,
plus, we get to see the TB "dance", we SEE how it moves:
not a pogo stick, that TudBluster! Video wins,
PLUS, no be-a-u-ti-ful Reid Welch-voice (the world's most beautiful male voice, fact, Jack! :D )
PUCK reminds all of the power of FILM such as "Pandora's Box", "IT", "Gone With the Wind" (that'd be about Tyler's Arguments) :lol: ,
and...APOCALYPSE NOW, and and and...MAYBERRY RFD starring that master of ever-thing, Barney Fife! "Extended knowledge" means...
...rows and rows of dusty decaying books, which this PUCK dearly loves, but...
NO text, no noise, except for your wind. :twisted:
Merrily we Roll Along, Roll Along, Roll Alongggggggg...and I don't mean Peter, Paul.
OH PUCK :p :p :p all that CC nonsense.
I make and I give because I'll never get a dime of credit or moolah, anyway.
I'll be dead before too many years or months from now,
anyway... so, ALL of my text and images are FREE to the world to toss into the Recycle Bin.
Just please include my name as a =requested favour= ? I like creative cookies (thank you's because they sustain my PUCK-self)
and I like my name;
my real name being
PUCK
...you all...
VERY HARD :lol: :lol:
It's just such a purty song, AGAIN:
performed here, in, it seems, about the year, 1944:
Lor' help us all, 'gainst more missed punches thrown by Tiller Durfen!
It is entirely possy-bull that Barney Fife may next input to this-here thread!
We don't want that, no sirs!
