Hi All,

This is a video of the now running again 2kw? unfinished Solarcar with a heavily modified F&P washing machine motor and a Infineon 12Fet 45A / 48V controller. Missing solar panels, just testing for now without them, they will add some not wanted weight, but when cruising on the flat should not make much of a difference, steep hills might kill it.

Goes much faster than shown but not around the driveway, will test it soon on a good run.

See also some more pics of the solarcar without a fairing and solar panels, to be added.

I want to now boost the controllers shunt to get maybe 50Amps or more as it seems many of you have done this.

The 12 x IRFB4310 fets I hope should handle this????

I hope you all enjoy this. It really does handle well especially over bumby roads, but I do need some decent tyres on the front instead of the wheel chair tyres that come with the wheels.

Torque is very good considering that when I have tested it with the back wheel off the ground it would go from 70kph to over 100kph and still pulls the total weight of car and me, 90kg car and me 68kg = 158kg up the hill in the driveway without a run up.
The motor never gets hot and sometimes just warm as it is exposed. The Infineon 45A / 48V controller does get a bit hot, but should be OK.
I feel the motor could handle much more power.

I am about to get a 1000W Chinese hub motor and controller and will then be able to do a comparison.

No load flat out it draws about 5Amps at 48v.
What would this equate to in potential power????
