What is the most recognizable bicycle company name?

To the average Joe!

I was thinking of making my own triangle bag, and figured I'd put the logo or name of a bicycle company on the side for added stealthiness. Could be any company in the bicycling industry, parts, bike builders... anything... good... bad... dont matter.

The only thing that matters is that its recognizable.

Trek or CCM would be highly recognizable brands.
Shimano
Giant

Shimano and SRAM were not on this list
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bicycle_brands_and_manufacturing_companies
Were on this list
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bicycle_part_manufacturing_companies

Which gave me an idea. Just add Bicycles.
Trek Bicycles
CCM Bicycles

Most names arent recognizable to the average Joe
Rocky Mountain
Canondale
Kona
Campagnolo

While that was definitely once true, since they all pale in importance today that might not be now. I've heard people ask if any of them were still around.

Method of logo on triangle bag - Iron on heat transfer used for T-shirts. Will see how long it stays noticeable.

Fabric - Whatever the clerks at the store suggest.

Attachment - Preferred method is velcro. Laziness method black Gorilla tape and black zip ties.

why do you need stealthy ebike in Calgary?
any close calls with by-law?

Just in the slow process of wanting a cleaner looking rig building my other frame up. MXUS 5000W in a 16" moto rim and Shinko tire, a good and powerful sinewave controller (Kelly), Custom rigid rear saddle panniers to hide the motor but having a fabric over it to have the classic look of a bag. Rigid because of single track trails tear up the bags. Controller on the underside of rack with splash protection, well you know the racks where you slide in battery, like that, but putting controller there. Battery bag in triangle. No display, just throttle. Black frame with black cables. Spending the cash on 3.5Ah's 18650's for distance, occasional short steep hill.

Wires everywhere!
I like it when my bike is in front of a restaurant window and people take a look as they are walking by.
I like it even better when they stop for a noticeable time and gaze at my mastery of wires everywhere.
Same while on train.
Next step up is when they start asking questions. How much. How far. Where.
While riding its a bit different, because you are either in front or behind people going either way so they dont notice anything except for the unusual noise (to them) of the trapezoidal waveform as I get 5' from them, and my automatic bicycle bell: The U-lock hanging off handlebar and making noises as I am going over bumps. Some dogs bark from the sound.
Easy solution, Sinewave controller, securely mount U-lock.

One ticket, no rear lamp. Understandable, no big deal. While stopped they said go and get it reduced. I pushed it forward. But it was thrown out by one of the pair, the non prick one. They were just making quota.

my experience very much he same here wherever I ride in Calgary.
as you I ride fast enough so they dont have enough time to see ,
recently I rather do not overtake like I used to do it.
just follow
I always pedal whenever somebody looks my way.
no pedalling looks very strange on pathway.
the last place I want to ride on weekends are the parks.
On weekends I am in industrial areas - piece and quiet.
roads are falling in disrepair , Calgary turning into 3-world shole.
cracks wider and wider, water valves covers just tumbling on asphalt, potholes, patches shoddy over patches.
illegal vehicles /mufflers/ all of the place roaring - police pretend they dont hear , refuse to inforce the law.
what the difference to 1988 when I moved in here.

Ah yes, 1988, brings back memories, what a great year. Reminisce: Winter Olympics, Opening/Closing Ceremonies. Electric Avenue bar scene, a drunken murder or two every year. Coconut Joes bar (long gone and now a day care), 3 Cheers bar (long gone, probably a nail/hair salon but who knows), The Keg (recently gone), Singapore Sams (still there). Others: The Cecil (long gone), King Eddy (bar long gone, now to do with Bell Corp Music), St Louis Hotel ( long gone, now the land is the new library), Crack Culda-Sac (gone), "High Stroll" 3rd Ave hookers (long gone), French Maid strippers (now a 30+ story office building). PROGRESS I guess.

Noise - yeah the fuzz dont care. They like to gawk at nice rides and let ppl slide. They prefer to pick on bums and poor ppl then write a $80k truck up for blocked plate from bike rack.

Dis-repair roads - potholes yes! 3rd world is the neighborhoods of Dover and north! Had to go deep into the NE twice last week! No offense to anyone who lives there or has lived there.

The pedaling part you mention is neither here nor there, yes I have done it, even without my chain installed. People looking my pedal ratio is 20/80 (no pedal/yes pedal) and depends on a lot of factors though.

Fast riding - For me gotta be respectful of others. My fast is probably slow to others standards. I went to 36V with 4T generic unmodded cont after that no light incident. I was going quite fast  when I heard sirens , plus I was doing S turns, trying to figure out if I needed air in my rear tire. So yes there was more to the story then just no light.

Schwinn used to be synonymous with bicycle in North America. It still is, for folks who haven't been paying attention for the last 25 years.

Canadian Guy? Go with CCM... so folks will think it's from Crappy Tire...

Edit: PS... Also possibly less "stealable"?

Guess most folks don't recognize brands that Mercedes put out. Sorry! (again)

Can I print just one or two t-shirts?
We say yes, when everyone else says NO! We love to print those single t-shirts you’ve been searching all over town for. Any quantity fits us fine!

Can I have more than one thing printed on my t-shirt?
Yes!
You can have multiple designs printed on the original t-shirt at a cost of $10 per printed design.

Are there any setup fees?

Nope. No setup fees. Our machine is a Digital Direct-To-Garment Printer and does not require that screens be made in order to print. The ink is laid directly to the t-shirt from the print heads in the machine. Therefore, no setup fees.

How is Direct-To-Garment different than silkscreen printing?

Direct-To-Garment printing is technology based. It uses computer programs to communicate with the printers. It allows printing in a rainbow of colours unlike silk screen where multiple colours increase costs. The speed of the DTG printing is astonishing; once the artwork is complete it can be immediately printed and worn! With the old silk screen method, setup and production of the final product is much slower and typically requires minimum orders and design restrictions.

DTG printing has no set up fees and no minimums and is totally customizable in a rainbow of colours!

What kinds of fabric can you print on?

Fabrics that are 100% cotton provide the highest quality printed results, as the water based inks used for DTG (direct to garment) printing do not adhere well to polyester.

Top spots are Schwinn and CCM.

Ah yes, Schwinn a totally recognizable brand indeed.

Brief history pulled off the web
Ignaz Schwinn Bicycles of Chi-Town 1895 then bankrupt in 1992 and sold to Pacific Cycle of Dorel Industries. Always been a rebrander, until 1950 on the insistence of keeping the name intact but selling in stores everywhere.

Schwinn Phantom, Hornet and Panther are all cool.

More stuff found, first alum safety bicycles 1890's

Scrapping the fabric "printing" / screening process.
Just going to go with Upholstery Fabric Paint

https://www.thoughtco.com/fabric-painting-tips-2578184
Purists say the best fabric for painting on is 100% cotton with a tight weave (an off-white or cream fabric will dull the paint slightly). But good results can be obtained with rayons and silks too. The best is to try a sample square to check the results.

Gotta hit up them arts & craft stores like https://www.michaels.com
See what they got, besides a lot of women roaming the aisles

^^ MY shirt maker only uses cotton. (<- Period)

Just put a logo with no name. Choose an existing bike brand logo, or create your own. Make it highly visible. People focus on a logo, distracting them from the bike details.

Only the best el natural fibre's for LockH from
Ummm.. Started out in Victoria BC Canada, then started to move around... Oh oh.
no need for
There is no difference in meaning between fiber and fibre. Fiber is the preferred spelling in American English, and fibre is preferred in all the other main varieties of English.

MadRhino, perhaps you are right about just a graphical logo. I am not convinced though. But I will use both!
I will use CCM BICYCLES with a simple logo of my own design around CCM BICYCLES.

"CCM BIKES" seems easiest as the term bikes is much shorter then using a word like BICYCLES, all the same font and size. http://www.canadiantire.ca/content/dam/canadian-tire/logos/Logo_Image_en_0_CCM_Cycling_Products.gif

The term "BICYCLES" is 8 letters and no debating it is 2888% a bicycle. A lucky number!
CCM is the winner. It is short and sweet
which in feng shui, 3 has a natural resonance in terms of beginning, middle and end; introduction, development and conclusion. You can see this number widely used in Chinese culture: the Three Gorges, the Three Kingdoms in Chinese history, and the three halls of the Forbidden City in Beijing. Three Main Halls includes Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Central Harmony, and Hall of Preserving Harmony, which is the place where feudal emperors exercised their powers and held a grand ceremony.
"BIKES" is 5 letters.
5 has been used to classify many things in Chinese, such as the five elements in astrology, the senses and the basic colors. It is a neutral number. In feng shui, the 5th level of life sometimes means the best. The number 5 symbolizes God's grace, goodness and favor toward humans and is mentioned 318 times in Scripture. Five is the number of grace, and multiplied by itself, which is 25, is 'grace upon grace' (John 1:16). The Ten Commandments contains two sets of 5 commandments. The first five commandments are related to our treatment and relationship with God, and the last five concern our relationship with others humans. People with the lucky number 5 usually tend to pursue freedom. They do not like to be bounded by their surroundings

Watts is the most recognizable bicycle company name?
To the average Joe!
And again, I vote for "natural" fibers eg bamboo... (ESB: Search found 659 matches: bamboo)
