I was considering buying a fat tire bike, but not sure what I'd be facing in the event of a flat or blow-out. Anyone experience that and lived to tell, I'd love to hear from all near-death experiences. I do like trail riding, although I'm sane enough to stay away from the vertical. I have acrophobia. Flat trails are most suitable, and where I live is mostly flat terrain. Having the electric assist has extended my day ride range considerably. There's simply more to see and people to meet. So if I'm cruising close to 35 mph, and my front tire blows out(non-motorized hub) could I lose it, or do you think coming to an emergency stop without losing much skin is possible? Also, are they difficult to change when necessary? I'm used to very narrow gauge 700c rims. The fat tire rims are different. They're a little intimidating.
