Just got off the phone with another Australian Distro for White Industries
and found that the 16tooth ENO don't come in the 6 Pawl config
only the 18tooth and above do :-S I really require a 16 tooth
18 tooth will bring the chain/freewheel closer to the can of the motor
than i would like... can anyone else confirm this info as it was a tart
i spoke to dunno if she new her stuff or not?

Cheers in advance

KiM

p.s hows $AU 160 biucks sound for a 18 tooth ENO NOT including deleivery
cost me a lil over 100 bucks INCLUDING delievery from SickBikeParts for their ENO cyclone
freewheel replacement...

On the contrary, only the 16t is available with dual pawl sets..... But why do you want this version?

I assumed the 6 pawl version would be stronger it is what i have now

Their website list it like this Miles

Are you suggesting the 3 pawl is the better version? i require 16 tooth
regardless of pawls ... what is my best option Auto-Botlike Miles ?

Sorry, Kim - still waking up...

Only the 18t has 6 pawls, as they listed - not 18t and above, as you were told.

The 6 pawl version isn't any stronger, only noisier - only 3 pawls are engaged at any time. The reason for it is to reduce lost-motion for trials riding.

So, just get the 16t.

The 6 pawl will reduce the impact on take-up, a bit, but I think the 3 pawl will survive :)

Okedokie then...but if i get stranded on side of road with blown 3 pawl eno im a comin for ya auto-bot-like Miles I wouldn't be worried though, more likely to blow a ESC ...or motor...break a belt ....or snap a chain...explode a lipo pack maybe!? or break a shaft...think the eno will be ok Miles :p

Isn't that an issue you complained about?

Hi Kim, as you have a cyclone ENO from sickbikes can you answer this;

how much side to side play do you have with it...I run a 64t mtb sprocket on mine and the side to side seems excessive to me  it came that way and doesn't seem to be getting any worse after a few rides....maybe the lock ring is loose or the bearing is f*cked?

thanks,

Ian :D

Yup same has side to side play, have had mine apart checking it nothing a miss just how it is. Matt.P also has one but his has slightly less, just luck of draw i guess, nothing can do about it...

There's only one bearing - that's why it's not ideal for handling power in unlocked (freewheeling) mode..... In the locked state, the bearing and the ratchet mech., together, form a proper structure.

so, these freewheels are significantly stronger than the regular freewheels on bikes right? any other advantages?

mainly directed at you kim, but im in australia and want one, whats the cheapest/best place to get one from? would it be a local australian company or straight from the US?

Advantages:
Wide range of sizes. All the constituent parts are available as spares. All outers have common inner. Replaceable sealed bearing unit. Non-hardened inner makes broaching splines into it a possibility.

Disadvantages:
See above caveat.

Only place to get the one i am using is from SickBikeParts cost about 120 bucks landed in OZ...

As Miles said though if you want the ENO with teeth their are many sizes and suppliers, i could give you the address i have sourced for NEW Australian supplier, but its ridiculously expensive and cheaper to buy from overseas supplier, if your a sucker for punishment though give this crowd in Melbourne a call

The OZ agent listed on the White Industries website no longer stock ENOs...
