I'm planning my winter overhaul, and am looking for whitewall moped tires. Impossible for me to source through my local channels, I was wondering If anyone here would happen to know of an international dealer.
The rims are 16x2 and 19x2 moped rims (20 2 & 23 2 for bike folks) and look like this:
I have comfortable frame and fork clearance for 2.5 inch tire width, but 2.75 would likely be too much on the rear wheel.
The plan is to get the new rims sandblasted, Metalized, powdercoated red and clearcoated for good measure. The rear wheel will need a sturdy single speed hub with either a drum or coaster brake, and I'll look into getting a polished 9c2812 front hub installed up front. (I'm already daydreaming about an even slower wound motor. Dear santa...)
The winters are rough on ferrous metals 'round here so marine grade corrosion protection is in order.
But I digress. Any suggestions welcome
