Word of warning if you plan to do business with DNM

I ordered a custom shock for my Greyborg Warp build and they just contacted me right now letting me know it is ready to ship. What they did not disclose is that they only accept wire transfer for payment. This sucks because I refuse to pay a bank $45 to purchase a $150 part that's also going to cost me $45 in shipping. Had I known they only accepted wire transfers I would have ordered 5 shocks to make it worth my while. I hate to do any international wire transfer for less than a few thousand due to the high fees. Most of the time anything under $1500 it's cheaper to use PayPal to pay, not to mention 100x faster and easier.

Guess there is not much I can do now, hopefully the guy I contacted in Poland comes through and makes the custom reducers/bushes that are needed to get the $50 Fast Ace shock to work. I'm really bummed out because I like DNM's products, but a company that will only accept wire transfers for small purchases in the year 2013 is not acceptable to me... mainly because I refuse to pay the crooks at the bank. If I was ordering over $2000 worth of stuff like I normally do for international orders I would have no problems doing a wire transfer as it's cheaper than PayPal fees, just can't use a credit card, have to have the cash on hand which is usually not an issue.

Anyone know a cheap international wire transfer service besides the crooked banks?

Well, good news / bad news. Finally got it sorted out. I am paying for and receiving 4 shocks instead of one, so I will have 3 extras for anyone who has the new Greyborg Warp frame.

240mm length 650lb spring and comes with the correct width reducers setup for 8mm hardware. I bought the last of the stock they had and it took them 3 weeks just to make these.

In the last few weeks I have spend $900 trying to get a correctly working rear shock because I am trying very hard to come up with bolt on solutions for people who will be purchasing Greyborg Frames. I believe in trying to make things easier for the DIY crowd since I know a lot of this can be challenging unless you are a machinest who can make custom parts. I prefer that things fit correctly and don't require major modifications, it turns out that it's been trickier than I thought. Good news is I have 3 different shocks to try out now, but I expect I will stick with the DNM since I have used their products and like them. They also seem to get good reviews online.

Next up is trying to document everything so that others can build the bike without a lot of confusion. I've been out of commission to do much work for the last 3 weeks due to major pain problems.

Thanks for putting all the effort/money into this.

The shock is one of the last things to buy on my shopping list, but these look good; and pretty cheap in comparison to others.

I am still deciding on the controller, tempted in giving one of those Alien Power Systems a go.

I was looking at this one.

Ebay ad states 230mm, spec sheet says 260mm?

Does not look very good compared to the burner. Its also the too short and lacks the correct reducers. I have reducers coming for my fast ace which is fully adjustable.

You can always ask what bank they use, see if there is a branch near you. If there is you can get their banks transit code and their account number and deposit the money directly into their bank. This is the info that is on ANY cheque. Of course there is no recourse to get money back this way Once the money is deposited, it is gone.

Mega bank something of Taiwan. I doubt they have a branch near Ventura California.

I had to pay the damn $45 to the assholes at the bank.

Can't expect everyone anywhere in the world to accept paypal, especially for sellers who may have been burned before (by paypal freezing accounts or the customer reversing charges). I've experienced both but still suffer though keeping the account active for payment convenience.

Use a currency broker for any wire transfer in the thousands. No charges and competive exchange rates. Much better than a bank! They just don't want to deal with small sums of $$
