I just read on the Yahoo ZAP group that ZAP has discontinued the 3-wheel Xebra EVs. Additionally ZAP is in debt and has a stock price in the penny range, so they are probably soon to be history as a company.
Too bad. My Xebra has treated me well for 5000 miles now. It has been a perfect daily driver for my limited driving needs. So no more 40 MPH non NEVs available to the common folk. People will now have to do their own conversion or else buy a slow nearly useless NEV. I guess the economic meltdown made it impossible to sell ZAP EVs--- EV's far from perfect yet still a good alternative to using gas.

That's quite unfortunate, I was thinking that their truck was the perfect fit for my city livin, two dog owning self. Though I didn't like the solar unit they have, I thought a roll up thin film solar setup would have been great. Maybe as a substitute it would be feasable to do a cushman truckster conversion.

Being heavily in debt and on the verge of bankruptcy has been standard operating practice at Zap for a long time. I'm surprised they've lasted this long. They could go on for another 10 years too. They just need to find more investors.

The Xebra is pretty simple, so I'm sure you can keep it going for a long time. You may need to get creative and use aftermarket parts if it needs repair at some point. Maybe it will become a rare collector's item

i was thinking I could find a used one and install pedals and skip the need to register it as a motorcycle ????

Back in college, the campus security used little Zap pickups for transportation. I heard from a guard that the battery setup would need to be changed every 6months in them, but that they loved them. Too bad the company can't put together a working bussiness plan.
