Hello folk's, firstly grab a coffee / tea and a plate of biccies as this novel may take a while to get through.
Well first a bit of background info, I'm a 54 years young (in mind ) and i live in the oldest recorded town in the UK and have been using a chinese EAPC scooter for a few years. A 48v beast ( upgraded to 72v ) which finally gave up and died, the frame collapsed due to rust ( frame was painted not powder coated ). So around September /October time last year i started to look around for something with more power and a much better build quality, it was a toss up between a Vectrix or a Zev scooter. After a lot searching on the web i decided to give the vectrix a wide berth and as luck would have it someone was selling some bankrupt Zev 4100L stock on ebay ( a number of Zev scooters were imported into the UK in 2010 but the owner was then declared bankrupt ), so after a few emails to Zev to check the 4100L's chassis number was genuine and the cost of the upgrade to the 6100L specs i went ahead and purchased a Zev 4100L (Silicon Lead Battery Version). The price was right for a unregistered bike with no mileage £1350, in mid october i asked Zev to give me a price for the upgrades, i was quoted :-
72v Charger $160
72v 6100W Controller $474
72 to 12v Convertor $75
Approx Shipping $195.
The extra Greensaver 12v 50ah battery i can purchase in the UK.
So after using the scooter for a while i decided to bite the bullet and go for the upgrades so i contacted Zev ( 5th December ) to see if the prices i was quoted were still valid, never got a reply, so about a week before xmas i phoned Zev to check the prices, i was told that the paperwork was on the desk and someone would get back to me. Well that never happened.
So sent them another email on the 17th January asking about cost of upgrades, not heard anything back from them.
So the question to all you knowledgeable folk's out there is.
Is there a suitable replacement 72v 6100W controller that can be bolted straight on my Zev 4100L, i can purchase the Charger and Voltage Convertor elsewhere as i've now given up on Zev .
Thank's for taking the time to read my post.
If you need any further info or photo's feel free to ask.
Cheer's.
