This thread is to sort all MEASURED caracteristic of the X5 motors

after all.. it's the most powerfull hub motor we can get for bicycle...!

Every time i dissassemble one i carefully measure and note everything about them that is under the cover.

( all with calibrated fluke equipment)

5302:

-winding
--number of strands: 10
--size of each strands: AWG 20 ( 0.032"dia)
--All strands = to one 10 AWG
--inductance bewteen two phase wire: 79uH
--DC resistance between two phase wire: 0.045ohm (direct to winding)

-number of pole:12
-number of magnets: 24

5303:

-winding:
--number of strands: 8
--size of each strands: AWG 20 ( 0.033"dia)
--All strands = to one AWG 11 conductor
--inductance between two phase wire: 169uH
--DC resistance between two phase wire:0.097ohm(direct to winding) and 0.103ohm(thru the anderson connector)

-number of pole: 12
-number of magnets: 24

5304:

-winding:
--number of strands: 5
--size of each strands:
--All strands = to one AWG
--inductance between two phase wire:
--DC resistance between two phase wire:

-number of pole:
-number of magnets:

5305:

-winding:
--number of strands: 4
--size of each strands: AWG 21 (0.029'")
--All strands = to one AWG 15 conductor
--inductance between two phase wire:
--DC resistance between two phase wire: 0.142ohm

-number of pole:
-number of magnets:

5306:

-winding:
--number of strands:
--size of each strands:
--All strands = to one AWG
--inductance between two phase wire:
--DC resistance between two phase wire:

-number of pole:
-number of magnets:

5403:

-winding:
--number of strands: 8
--size of each strands: AWG 20 (0.032'")
--All strands = to one AWG 11 conductor
--inductance between two phase wire: 297uH
--DC resistance between two phase wire: 0.104ohm

-number of pole: 12
-number of magnets: 24

Hey doc,

You should change the pole count for x5303 to 14 poles.. unless .. i'm wrong :P

Hey Steveo,

Thanks i 'll double check that but i've always thought that all X5 have 12 poles.. just like justin is suggesting on about the X5 motor serie?

If you have some more info to add to these informations please PM me them.. i'll add them.. also i wanna know about the 5306 if it's 4 strands of wire and what is the diameter of that wire on the winding ( measured)

Doc

Some typical pics of a X5 stator :

( here is a 5303 being converted to a 5303 and 5306!!)

... with some modification as well; 6x Relay, heat shring on the phase wire strands, all phase are splitted into two independent winding...

Re: CRYSTALYTE motor 5302 to 06 Winding Electrical Informati

Postby Doctorbass » Sun Apr 01, 2012 10:00 pm

Update 1 april 2012:

Added: Crystalyte 5403 motor

Thread of the complete review and pics here:http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=38300

ELECTRICAL PARAMETERS:

Phase to Phase DC resistance ( direct at the junction of the winding terminal and the phase wire so no phase wire resistance included)
Current: 10.0A, Voltage across phase to phase 1.042V Resistance = 104.2 miliohm

Inductance Phase to Phase ( measured across the phase wire wich change nothing to the inductance of the winding)
= 341mH
