plug RCD trips houses RCD, why?

Does this in turn trigger the 'test' button to turn it off? Diverts a small amount of power from active to ground, causing an imbalance between active and neutral. I think active is called HOT in the US?

    Headway cells stopped working... Help?

"But with these 4 cells, they pull 0.3 amps" Rooted. Massively high internal resistance. Not surprising they got hot.

    Headway cells stopped working... Help?

Hot cells is a very good indicator of high internal resistance - they basically boil off the electrolyte and get worse and worse. High IR cells are only good for stationary applications and low current draw.

Boost 110v AC to 120v AC or slightly more

Old iron core halogen transformers work well for this. You set them up as an autotransformer. A 50W unit will give you ~4.5A, as you are only using the secondary to do the heavy lifting. Add more in parallel to up your requirements.

Using a MPPT solar charge controller as a bulk charger

This MPPT charger will supply 82V at least, I've got it charging a 72V nominal battery bank, from a 50V 250W panel.

Charge 52V Dolphin with this MPT-7210A?

Its a boost converter MPPT - if input > output, then this will happen normally. There has been quite a bit of testing with these, and people are reporting decent power, 4-500W.

Cheap LM2596HV dc-dc converters that BLOW UP

Yeah I found a few of the exploding knockoffs too - wasn't real impressed...

    Voltage regulators

You will probably find that they only adjust the threshold of the LED for 'charger' systems (to indicate when the battery is 'full' - the current falls below a certain level). That's what the CH led is for.

Looks like the same motor as used in the Zero. Bugger-all information on the page.

What is the frame you are using? How did your 0-60 times improve? Looks good, and your batteries are aircooled as well 8)

    Vectrix Battery Connectors help

You should be able to parallel the booster by putting between the shunt negative and the positive-most battery terminal. You can disconnect the main anderson and anderson splitter (mounted on the top battery) while you connect the booster. There is a small pair of molex connectors that have an...

Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v2.A1

Good encoders incorporate all of these features - A/B, Halls and Index Zero. Price is another question though...

    What is this current?

Current flow and potential difference are two different things. A current only exists when there is something bridging the potential difference (ie. your meter). You are seeing a weak current leakage current setting the case at the potential of the cathode, which you are measuring against the...

Get normal bolts and find someone with a lathe to centre-drill them for you and tap perhaps?

Vectrix 2007 Lithium Batteries State of Charge

Red LED is one I installed above the cycle analyst. It usually lights on acceleration (due to battery sag). The battery gauge is only a voltmeter, ignore it. Use the cycle analyst.

Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v2.A1

The 600A rated one might though - biggest problem is getting rid of 600A X 2V of heat! I just clicked on your high power controller link - the topology was exactly what I had in mind last night (reconsidering the IPM modules due to cost) including the 'power ring' capacitor! Damn... That's crazy.

Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v2.A1

I'm back looking at the Mitsubishi/PowerEX IPM's again. I've got a 300A unit that I would like to play with again. There appears to be a very good interface board that fits the PM300CLA060 (BP7B-LS) and PM450/600CLA060 (PB6A-LS) that provides optoisolation and isolated DC DC converters - all...

Vectrix 2007 Lithium Batteries State of Charge

The pack I wouldn't take below about 22AH. The red LED when it is on constantly means LVC has been hit on at least one cell and to charge NOW. My run into and back from work (32Klms) would use roughly 12-13AH.

Vectrix VX1 - Used/new Nimh cells and battery temp sensors

    eBay 8s alarms not really 8s ?

The draw is very uneven. That's a given, and will unbalance cells given long enough. There are ways to get around this with unity gain opamps (I have some permanently connected to some LiPos). If they are genuine CellLog 8S they will measure 8 cells. Sounds like a cheap knockoff.

Vectrix 2007 Lithium Batteries State of Charge

Its just occurred to me that your problem is most likely throttle calibration (helping someone else with the same symptoms). I can get the same result if my throttle is slightly on when I try to start mine. Put the ignition on, killswitch on off (ie on X) and put on the left brake only. The...

Vectrix 2007 Lithium Batteries State of Charge

How far do you get into the start sequence? Do you at least get to 'ready'? Does the dash do the proper opening ceremony (speedo goes all the way to 120 and back again). A photo of whats shown on the dash would be great to get an idea of where its at. 124V should be enough voltage to get it to...

Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v2.A1

Awesome. I wasn't sure if you had gotten into field weakening on this yet... Is this compatible with quadrature encoders? Or just hall sensors?
