    Another update. I ordered two spindles from ebird. The link to the part they sent me was a bit dubious with no photo and no description. However, I ordered two, giving me a spare. They arrived in less than a week, apparently from a UK warehouse. Well done AliExpress 👍

    Just for the record. Ebird on AliExpress do sell the 100mm spindles. They are not in their shop but you need to message them. £30 Inc pp and tax to UK. 9 weeks delivery.

    Hi Wayne. I think you are a master of good maintenance and quiet motors. As much of the noise will be from the gears, I wonder if your choice of grease could be a key issue. I bought some basic silicone grease for the plastic gear, but I'm not convinced. What grease would you recommend? Thank you.
