    Who makes this 72v battery?

It looks dangerously similar to the one I purchased directly from a Chinese manufacturer: No recommendation (see my build thread for details)

    Conversion of a Bultaco Sherpa

I am making slow progress. This is because I want to alter the whole wiring-I was putting it together quite unsorted, what makes error search way too complicated. So I decided to make all wires go to the frame triangle , and do all connections there. Additionally, I want to make the 12V part...

Got reply from Kelly. They told me to "Remove the Hall plug of the motor, then turn on the power and wait for 3 minutes before connecting to the user software." I did so and indeed, the Controller was accessible to remove the entry "170" which caused the angle setting process. But I am still...

    Conversion of a Bultaco Sherpa

I have now written an email to the Kelly customer support, describing the problem and asking them about a way to reset the controller. I hope they will reply... Thanks to everybody for the welcome :) Just in case you haven't seen it yet: Here is a link to a YT video I made about my build...

Oh-I didnt mention it because it appeared self-evident. Of course I have the chain removed. The motor has only the sprocket to its axle. Thanks for the welcome.

    Conversion of a Bultaco Sherpa

After a looong break due to familiar and health issues, I am back, and I finally want to try to get the Bultaco back to driving. Unfortunately, the notebook which I have been using with the Kelly software is not working anymore, so I tried to use the mobile phone app, although the app looks...

    1975 Honda CB550 Conversion

If you want the bike to look like in your second picture, you will need the exhaust pipes, too. Otherwise it will look totally different. If you add 4 exhausts to your calculation, you will have at least 20-30 kg (40-60 lbs) more..

    Kawasaki Ninja 250 build

I agree with Dui - in my opinion this is not enough clearance: Just keep the handlebar angled instead of straight, and add a bit of vibration, and it will touch...

My first EV conversion: '69 Honda CA160 "Baby Dream"

This is really a stylistically great conversion ! :bigthumb: The battery box with its "classic" form is matching the rest of the bike perfectly. And the hub motor does not disturb either. Maybe I had removed the black paint from it, so that it looks more like the front hub. But this is a very...

    Conversion of a Bultaco Sherpa

Thanks for the explanation. Apparently I did not understand the news properly. I have bought my generator long time ago, because the power supply is not very reliable here- we have short blackouts a few times per year, often in summer, and then I always worry about the content of the freezer...

    Conversion of a Bultaco Sherpa

Well, I don't know which news YOU read, but those which I read (ecowatt) were talking about power cuts from 8:00-13:00 AND from 18:00-20:00. Which is a little more than 2 hours... And most likely those will not happen during working days, when people will be out of their houses at work...

    Conversion of a Bultaco Sherpa

I am afraid: no... because: 1) I am back to work, so not much free time left 2) due to the news I had to shift priorities (for those who live in other parts of the world: French government announced possible blackouts this winter  ) So in the little free time left, I am...

    Kelly KLS 72601-8080I

I think it is a typo in the android app. Because in their manual, they write: "Please check whether the Identification Angle item is at 85 or not.", and in the windows program it is spelled properly: (but there they misspelled "battery" )

    Kelly KLS 72601-8080I

On your picture this "engle" setting is 85. If you set it to 170 manually, it should be back to 85 after the self learning procedure. So if your controller shows the 85 (of course after "reading" the actual value), the angle identification seems to have been successful.

I dont think that the ventilation of the motor is a problem. When it got hot, the heat was mainly at the end covers. The center part with the "cooling fins" was never too hot to be touched with bare hands. Here you can see that there is a free space under the battery holder (removed on photo)...
