(unless you find a specific manufacturer forbids some orientation(s), then you'll need to ask them about why/etc).
Anything else depends on your pack design, interconnects, etc.
Once you have a pouch or prismatic pack properly secured and compressed, none of the cells are going to move relative to each other, so then your interconnects are all that could move, and if those are also secured to the cell block/packaging, they won't move, so there's nothing to make any difference to cell or pack orientation.
