Hello,

I did a little bit on my frame. Mostly I was facing with the front tubes. I have not nothed the tubes on the front jet because Ifirst have to think about the right way to do it.

Seat tube is already finishd.



At the moment I try to get the material for the upper tube. It is not as easy as I thought and some companies sell 1m of a 40mm diameter tube for over 25€!!

Hello guys,

I made some progress the last few days.

First I made the notching for the front fork tube. I welded it on and I also made the connections between the two double-down tubes.

Sorry for the bad pictures. I just had my mobilephone with me so I couldn't make them in high quality.

Here you can also see thet I made a recess in the side plates.
Just the holes before I cut it out:

The side plates are now much less heavy

I´ve been looking forward to learn how to solder for a long time, but never had the time.
Mid drive with custom frame is the absolute best of ebikes for me!

I made good progress the last few weeks. Most of the work was cuttin and grinding the tubes. I nearly spend one week doing this

here is some metal dirt just from grinding the tubes -> i hate grinding :x


Hopefully I will finish the frame next weeks.
Cant wait to mount the motor and elecronics

This is how the frame looks right now: I have to finish the upper tubes and remove the flangers of the motor so it could be mounted deeper inside the frame

I realy don't want to know how much it weighs so i even didn't put it on a weighing scale so far

But I can tell you that it weighs enough :wink:

I want to use my carbon swing arm form my centurion bike. So in the end it won't me that heavy.

previously I thought of making my own swing arm because the other does not realy fit to my design.
I already saw the problem during constructionwork.

The issue is that the swing arm doesn't have enough place on the two metal plates on the bottom.

Here is what I mean:




The swingarm would crash into the end tubes of the frame so I have the choice to make my own swingarm or redisign the upper tubes and make it suitable for the carbon swingarm

The grren line (in the graphic) shows where the swingarm would be blocked.

One idea to solve the problem is to move the rotation point from 1. to 2.

Futhermore the upper tubes has to be redesigned .. maybe like that?

Just made a wooden construction to measure the new distances.

I think I will use the carbon swingarm and redesign the upper tubes and the saddle tube

Here is the wooden construction with the swingarm mounted.

You can see that the swingarm is now not as close to the saddle tube as it was before.

And I also made new drawings, so I wil be able to finish the frame next week

I am really feel dumb, but how can you convert hub motor do a mid drive motor?
Because the wires will be twist when rotating...?
