Thxs bto_pty, runs very nicely.
could not rely on the Wp reading since the test was started without resetting the wattmeter,
Actually it was reset and accelerated to verifiy remote control bind... Id say Wp is definitly 250w on its own...

Also leads to conclusions regarding the maximum wattage that a motor should deliver...at 45-50 amps is probably not continiuus..

If we look at sebastians graph from his post http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=59576

wow 90 amps, that's a lot. My measurement values are a lot more conservative, (singe drive 6374-170 motor+ 6s lipo) see my datalog :
http://endless-sphere.com/forums/download/file.php?id=136531
we see that tough he maxed at 38 amps, his average was under 4 amps...
From aprox 300 data points, if we were to eliminate the top 15 (5% of the points) we would have a max amp rating of only 14 ams. Turning this into percentages. The average wattage is 10% of the max. 95% of the wattages were under 40% of the max... I tend toa gree fully with this info.

Overkill?
150 amp controller and 90amp connectors to pull somewhere around 35 amps continious in my case
2400 watt motor to pull probably around 800 continiuos...
Id like to know if anyone has burned up their ESC or motor for non Hobbyking-quality related issues?

Trying to learn to post a youtube link...

There i think that works..
Will try out the hero3 and destroyer tomorrow assuming it does not rain...

Yea its a pleasure to ride.. usually ride between 630 and 730.. its nice and empty and cool.. Its a nice round trip of 22 kms..
Whenever you are in Panama please call me up and well ride.. :D I always have an extra board and helmet on hand..

I was going 37-39 kph.. first run on fully charged 6s bateries.

Thanks so much for the video!

I finally am getting an idea of what 39kph / 24mph will look like from the deck of a longboard, and to tell you the truth it scares the piss out of me. Which is exactly why I'm building one of these things!

But in all seriousness... that speed seems like it would be "fast enough" for most people.

Great work and keep the videos coming!

Verruckt
Thanks I will hopefully post two new videos tonight,, some more longboard Porn...

A few friends have learned to ride on my boards usually takes them 3 to 5 days and then they can ride with me.... the first day the bravest of the three went up to 22 kph (acording to map my ride app) that is the fastes anyone has gone on day one... after 3-4 days 30 kph (max) is achieved. but they continue to cruise around 20-25..
The fastest ive ever riden the detroyer is 54 kph and I probably wont ever do it again.. it just isnt fun anymore...and having repeatedly fallen at around 40 kph on several ocasions i have no interest in learning what it feels at 54...

This was today.. just to show what the destroyer looks and feels like when riding... didnt go anywhere near 54 kph max.. probably somewhere around 35 to 40 or so...

Nice spot! But dude those are terrible shoes for any kind of skateboarding. You actually have heels on these boots  You should wear flat soles, feel the board better. Especially since your feet stick out at both ends like that. I don't even wear sneakers that have a sole that's too thick

Lol :D

totally disagree... they have steel toes..steel heels and awesome heels to brake on., plus they are super broken in...

Have several sets of gym sneakers as well as some skateboarding Vans or something like that lying around.. they just dont measure up..

However they do suck when I have to hoof it...which fortunately is less and less often

Here is a vid from about about a year ago before i disc0vered you guys... on my long deceased boosted boards reverse engineered Minimotor build...and you can see im sporting the same beauties...

And again in a not mentioned build which used the aluminum miniboard and my first hobbywing.. like 5 months ago...

:D they rock...

Racing a bike.. however after defeating the poor soul.. it was faster than i could record/skate/not die...
Beetbocks more of the scenery.. it is really a pleasure to board here..
I love Panama

LOL :D

Dont forget I got a gun in my hand...

Hehehe. I know what I'm going to be on Halloween. I'm going to wear a grim reaper costume and hide the board under, then I'm going to scare the heck out of everybody!

LOL awesome idea...
Great potential for getting in trouble...

What a great idea Pedi! Halloween is going to be a blast. Beto it looks really really nice where you're riding.

Did you find that kick pushing on the 42mm motors was much more difficult/ you had more resistance? I find my board is quite hard to push and I'm wondering if it is the small motors.

Hi Nik
Pushing was a little harder but no imposibly so.. mi minimotos had 5:1 gear reductions so going at a decent pushing speed made them spin up pretty fast. So basically calculate your battery consumption.. or carry an extra one so you don't have to kick... :D

Really nice, perfect EL-Skb scenery. I see a big mountain in the backround the way the shadows point. Can you take on some steep hills there?

Looks like you ride backwards?

Hi Barn
That little mound in the back is cerro Ancon it's about 250 meters high and has only 1 old access 1 lane road, Its a national park of some sort.. very ignorant..sorry so i guess that would not make for any meaningfull downhill, probably more of a problem with upcoming traffic than anything else... might actually have to go find out though... The band brakes on the destroyer should hold up to any kind of descent..

Are you saying I'm backwards? or that my board is backwards :D ... LOL
Actually my board has to be ridden backwards since my bandbrakes only work in one direction.. and as the mount is welded I cannot change the direction it works in.. so I ride the board backwards...However that said, after I saw the awesome rolling diference and the way the wheels "pull around corners and on startup all my latest designs incorporate front (as oposed to rear) wheel drive. The reasons are that the motor rolls with the hits, and any obstacles are "flowed over" as opposed to impacted... the breaking is a little wierd however as the board slightly sinks in the front..I do not see myself using rear mounted trucks again unless it's a 4x4 mountainboard.

Nice solution to the problem :)

I thought, -why not just switch the trucks? But then I see the deck is milled to the electronics underneath.

Exactly. the underside was milled to hold them.
However Im working on a full enclosure to house them and might just forgo the milled areas, level everything off and enclose it. since I have decided to go from 5ah to 10 ah on 8s and the second set does not fit in the initial milled space... If i do so it will be no problem switching the trucks to they ride "correctly"
Nice catch though :D

Today's ride..

the end of the cinta costera... towards the end you can see a skating pit.. and finally the Maracana stadium (of course not the original Maracana which is in Brazil)...
