Very true, and I would always want to be using less than the rated capacity for longevity's sake. That is the main reason I use the 28V 2S4P so I get them cheaper per cell and I get more punch with the 53V's.

I'm only using about 9AH myself atm, but I plan on getting twice that soon as I can afford it.

I haven't tried sblutos’s bike simulator, but this discussion seems relevant for those trying to find out how much distance you can get with a set of batteries. Just going slower can increase your range significantly. It would be interesting to compare simulated results to actual ones. I can’t do anything till spring, too much snow here in Mich. and I don't have any interest in riding in the stuff. Now if I can build me a set of electric skies, that would be different
