Hi everyone.

I live in Canberra and I'm looking at getting either a 5000w or an 8000w electric scooter from a company called "eRider" in Melbourne.

I am wanting to know if anyone has bought or test ridden one of these scooters.

They run on 87v (24 LifePo4 cells) and have 60Ah cells. The top speed has been cut to 106km/h in both models.

They look like a re-badged version of the American "X-treme 5000li". However the Aussie seller insists on installing a BMS to protect the batteries which is great.

The web site is www.eRider.com.au

Any info would be good. Thanks :)

I know this is old, but I just saw this company on the web, and they currently have a 5000W scoot on ebay, fully rego'd with warranty.

Plus an e-motorcycle.. certainly looks interesting for the price.

I know this is an old post, but there seems to be a few of these used E-Rider scooters popping up for sale lately.

Any one on the forum own one or have any more information about real life performance, range, etc?

PS: I did find some more over on the V is for Voltage forum http://visforvoltage.org/forum/11326-erider-8000w-scooter-australia-similar-xm5000li?page=1

I recently got spammed by Eric with some December sales. I don't mind, I like the guy ;)

A 5 kW or 8 kW scooter is perfect for Aussie roads, as we often have 70 km/h well zones within the city.

Hi Jonescg,
Yeah, I got that email too! They're also listed on ebay.

I also see a few ZEV's on gumtree. The ZEV looks almost the same as the E-rider.
I'm bidding on the yellow 7100LR ZEV on ebay that's at the Sunshine coast, but after sitting so long I'd say the batteries are pretty toast.

What I really want is a Zero SR, but if I can get the ZEV cheap enough it may be a fun project.

Looks like a nice bike. Sold at $2250, did you win?

No, pipped at the post by less than $25...

The seller looks like he might have another for sale though as there were a couple in the photo.
Only thing is they have been sitting in storage for a while and are out of warranty, so likely batteries are toast but probably can replace for about $2.5k According to the ZEV web site the 7100 LR is the 7.1kW nominal hub motor model with 28 cell 60AH batteries.

You're from WA, you should check out Gumtree, there is a red one for sale in WA for $4400 with rego. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/nedlands/scooters/zev-7100-electric-scooter-380-kms-near-new/1057765112

There was also a Zero electric bike up for auction on ebay down in Sydney. Did anybody win that???

That's a shame, looked like a nice deal.

Yep, found that local bike yesterday after reading this thread. I didn't even know about the ZEV bikes.
I might throw him a lowball offer. I would like a road registered EV to play with.

Looks like that Zero S 2011 model in Sydney was re-listed on ebay.

Anybody checked this one out?

Would look better with an updated headlight.

The company website link is dead.

So, what happened to (your) orphan electric scooters? Any problem with parts?

I've been riding my Erider TD5 8000w scooter from Eric since 2011. I've now got around 24,000km on it and the bike still runs perfect. I now get about 43Ah out of the original 50Ah battery pack. The only thing I've had go wrong is bald tires and a blown blinker. I still use this bike everyday to get to/from work in Canberra. This morning it was -5c and my 72v battery dropped to 69.7v whilst accelerating up to 80 km/h. I can still get around 70km or so on a full charge. Mine has the CHL 50Ah cells with the Sevcon controller.
There's 2 others here in Canberra which now have 39,000km and 52,000km on their scooters. I believe they are also still working as well

You should post some pics up here Millzy !
