E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

well I was getting 30 miles range with two 13 AH 48 volts batteries in parallel starting with 58 volts and coming back with 54 volts getting 35 mph+ at 35 amps and that was with one cell shorting out against the screw receptacles in frame(by the way that was the problem with one battery losing charge)...so if I start in series with 117 volts and take it down to 100 or so maybe 50 miles if I stay under 35 mph??....25 miles at 45 - 50 mph??...so far gotta say I like the HPC new battery chemistry....finally my bike will be optimized for a true over 100 volt 5000 watt system (which is what it was supposed to be in the first place)

I would like to try a mid drive with rholloff hub next...think it would lose some top speed but be more balanced, lighter, and efficient and also climb good..if I could get 45 mph top speed that would be good enough for me and worth the trade off!

yeah keeping the wheels!...one of the few trouble free things with this bike!

Better late than never. Yah, your wheels will last thats for sure.

finally ready to order my spokes (got delayed). dimensions for my hub (saint 820 36h hub) mentions a 2.4mm hole drilled, which it looks like a 13g spoke will fit.

what gauge spokes are you guys running on the rearwheel? I'm putting a cromotor v3 on the back of mine, and seems like 13g might be a little thin to go on the cromotor?

I'm also a little unsure if I have to order the nipples
http://holmeshobbies.com/Sapim-12-gauge-nipple.html

or if the nipples that come with the sapim spokes at holmes hobbies fit the pitbike rim. (13g)

I called them but they reccomended emailing volt riders as they seems to deal more with stock, and less on setups. wondering if anyone here ordered their spokes through them and what they had to do.

ive got 19x1.4 prowheel rims that I bought (I guess the trick is making a bike spoke connecting to a pitbike rim)

JR Holmes referred me to Voltriders when they laced my MTB hub to a 19x1.4 PW racing rim. Voltriders did top notch work on that. I would recommend them all day long.

Thanks for the wheel build info Rick, Here's a couple pictures of my Schlumpft 34T/855T High speed drive with single sprocket. Crown motor too!

Mike, Good to see it's starting to come together and thanks for posting the pics. The carbonfibre panels do look nice.
Will be interesting to see how your drive performs. My schumph is only a 30 tooth on the front.

I see rust building up, I would take care of that ASAP Ming. Cool color!

Mike lives on the west coast, constant coastal breeze with salt in the air. Rust can be combated, but its a pain.

Mike, Green Phasor is good to go. When will it be running?

Rick

This is a High Speed Schlumpft drive 1 to 2.5. Meaning the sprocket you see is 34 teeth. Internally geared times 2.5! Equals 85 Teeth. My E Mutant brothers!

Question for Phasor owners. In the original Phasor announcement thread, David noted that Phasor would be making a MX seat. I followed up in there but I think that thread is dead. It looks like jesset33 and wingsuit mention building their own?

Anyone know the status of the MX seat from Phasor?

I'm a ass. I see, No one's disputing me. sorry men alcohol.

I would dispute you, but that would make me full of shit, and I don't like to be called full of shit. The Schlumpf are really a great answer for ebikes, the low gear for pedal power only or steep climbing, and the over drive for assisting under E power. Great combo.

Rick

nice to see someone is trying a schlumph/crown combo...what kinda voltage are you planning ming?.....also,are you going to use chain tensioner?

It Lives :D

Chucked the controller and and batteries in and had a little test run.

A few niggles with brakes , shifting and gearing but its rolling and thats good.

I'm using sexy English Hope brakes and out of interest you need to use adaptor 'B' on the back of the phasor frame for 203mm rotors
as opposed to the 'G' the Hope documentation says.

Now just waiting for a tool from the USA to get the rear cluster off and I reckon a washer or two will sort the shifting.

Unfortunately got a 2 week wait for a spider from another English purveyor of fine bike porn Middleburn but I've got a few more tweaks with wiring and the CA mount - its going down off the handlebars to somewhere lower.

Its the geared mac 8T hub as I like pedalling - currently tinkering with 72v 15a of lipo but likely to change.

BTW any other UK Phasor owners in the house ?

Hello ES members, have you seen some the crazy video of our brothers in Europe and Russia riding the snow! You are some rugged individualist. Big Cahones, Men, and fast too! I'm impressed! My Bike Beautiful DP, Lime green #1 is finally done! No regen yet, Ilia is doing the fine tuning. I told him the ride some hills, It's San Francisco, dah. Picking it up tomorrow, should say trying it out. Details to follow, pictures and video soon as I figure it out. Even stills I post are to large. I know, I have been reducing. P.S. It's 55 F slightly cloudy, here. Too cold to ride for me!

Funny piece of Phasor lore in the making here...

But there's two #1 and their both lime (or Lamborghini green)

Yes, Doom. I think there several lime green Phasor's. Mine is David Pearce's first finished prototype bike (hence Beautiful #1). Still no sign of any frame cracks or failures. Eight foot drops with heavy batteries and lots of abuse. Korpin you know your Phasor's. Yes I have to run a chain tensioner, to give the chain enough slack for the swing arm to move. As for batteries I'm using twelve 5.8 zippy lipo four in series with BMS. About, 121v off the charger at about 21a. 24 FET Lyen controller. I road my girl in SF yesterday. My dream is coming to fruition! . No regen yet, my bad. Just got the throttle to Ilia. Schlumpft isn't really working right, the chain tensioning problem. Brakes need some work too. Those big wide fat tires look cool, but aren't stable. Lots of traffic and stop signs, hills ect.. Couldn't really open her up, but did pull some good hills and got up to 40 MPH. It doesn't wheelie, not that kind of crazy torque I'd hoped for. . I do expect pretty high top end 60 MPH with good range.I also dropped off my new orange DP Phasor, to Ilia along with the DH Santa Cruz donor bike. Slowly starting the Cromotor build.

Very Nice Mike, Ilia hooked it up for you. I forget, which TC you running and whats the verdict? I love green, its my favorite color all shades of course. Can I get you to take a close up of your free wheel and chain tensioner? Cant really tell whats going on from the top pic.

Rick

Hi Kike....

I think mine was the first production frame unfortunately i didn't build it up immediately then
i was ill for a 6 months then six months getting back into shape (pedal powered dieting) so
it sorta languished but its now frustratingly close .

Brakes are now working a treat - gearing and shifts not quite there - more of a 6 speed at the moment - chain line  but i loathe the 7 speed grip shitter I have.

Currently waiting for some connectors to get the throttle electronics sorted and a crank spider to put on the bigger gear and I suppose id better build up the BMS

The frames are well great though....I ride a nice carbon MTB as my daily driver (probably weighs less than my Phasors pedals)
but I really do like the balance of the Phasor.

Ive been riding it around a bit this weekend to bed the brakes but no full power runs yet still tweaking it but I'm really really pleased with it.

Only issue I had - which I wouldn't even say was much of an issue was the cranks binding on the bottom bracket -
which I think i read on here happened to someone else ..but i got around it by changing the bearing brackets to a slightly flatter version and packing one arm.

I've also put nice heavy duty bushes on the rear shock from a local specialist - who had refurbed the front fork before it got it off ebay.

David P's done a great job on these frames.

Interesting Doom. No worry's. Any Phasor is a great Phasor. How big are your batteries? Just saying, ha the ha! mines better, and bigger. Just kidding. Keep Phasor's up on ES.

P.S. picked my bike up at Davids house somewhere in Soutern Califonia. Nice man, genius and a artist.

Doom we are kindered spirits. I totally agree my 2008 stumpjumper was much more nimble. The Santa Cruz with a torque motor (I had a V4, too high geared) would have been good. My new Phasor is a bit heavy, I may register it as a moped? 120 Volts 21 amp hours! Wow! Right!
