My 500w Cyclone

Those rivet nuts look good, I found this you tube link:

I will see how the current setup holds after a few journeys, hopefully it will be fine as it is.
The cyclone kit could do with nylon locking nuts imo.

I have done 2 very short tests, as the roads are so wet and its always dark. It seems to be running fine, its great fun!

if you havent replaced the nuts to nylock yet i suggest a dab of silicone on the threads during assembly . let cure before use and should do the trick.

cheap easy and accomplishes same goal.

Hey guys, a little update after 20miles:

Ive used it for my commute about three times, its been a dream. The motor doesn't seem to be slipping on the frame yet, although it is too early to say for sure.

It has not stopped raining for the whole of november here so I have not been using it very much - I cant wait for a few dry days!

Last night I received my 900 lumen deal extreme torch, so thats me sorted for night time commuting - cant wait to try that out.

My speedo has also arrived from hong-kong so I will be able to get some accurate speed tests done too.

The PING battery has so far performed flawlessly, I have only done shallow discharges so far though, and not tested the range.

I am using Schwable city tyres, which although really fast, offer very little cushioning, so in hindsight I should have bought something a tad meatier.

I have siliconed the connections on the motor so it should be fairly waterproof - though I dont intend using it in anything more than a light shower.

More to follow with final pics! Bring on the sunshine!

Is it ever going to stop raining in the UK?!

Its getting ridiculous now!

Could someone please quote the correct locknut size for the cyclone motor mount kit? Want to use the rest of my hobbyking weight allowance on my order!

From the looks of the bolt, aligned with http://www.boltdepot.com/Fastener-Information/Printable-Tools/US-and-Metric-Thread-Sizes.pdf it looks to be .7mm and from http://www.roymech.co.uk/Useful_Tables/Screws/Hex_Screws.htm that would be an M4 locknut.
