Ok, so this is based off my post that I have been updating since back in September here: http://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/solar-powered-eboard-concept-charging-the-battery-while-you-ride-done-building/196

since then, I have gotten a lot of feedback (you can read the thread that I linked if you're interested...there's much longer explanations, and more photos of the whole process)

but I just thought I'd also throw up some pics here on ES and then just answer any questions accordingly. I just finished it two days ago, but as far as charging rates go, here's what I know so far: I can charge at .5 amps steadily at 5:00 in the afternoon (big deal because here in Florida, the sun is almost set at that point) so I'm hoping to be able to charge around 1 to 1.5 amps around noon with minimal cloud coverage...

solar panel input voltage to the charger is roughly 14.5volts when I measured it. Again, that was around 5:00, which is the time I get home from school. I will test it tomorrow during noon when I actually bring this bad boy on campus :D

I love the idea, but protect those exposed lipo packs under the board!

yep, I am in the process of a making an enclosure: this is just an initial mockup to make sure everything is working...
