I found this box on Amazon.com and decided to give it a go. Very little information could be found but for the price of under $32 with free shipping I figured why not give it a try. The inside demisions are approx 13 long x 7 wide x 6.5 tall. It mounts very easy to a flat normal rack. Would take a little work to mount to a topeak rail type rack.

That is the link above.....

here is a picture on the bike... It also has a keylock and looks like it should be waterproof.

I can fit 48V 20Ah lifepo4 inside it with plenty of room to spare.

Anyways.... Thought this could be a solution for those who want something clean and lockable.

that looks nice. The locking feature is very nice.
Seems like you bought the last one... out of stock now on Amazon.

Got a couple of these badged as Raleigh on sale half price $20 from Canadian Tire.

I've seen another member here from Britain that has one of these mounted on his bike.

It has a droopy butt that overhangs the end of the rack to deliberately prevent it from being mounted towards the seat so the lid can open, which makes it hang out back by almost half it's length.
Haven't decided what to do with them yet but it was too good a deal to pass up.

There all gone! Out of stock. Now how do you think that happened?

Here's another reseller:

I bought one from them recently, through ebay. Should be here Tuesday.

What a bogus way of jacking up the price!! List weight at 18lbs when the thing doesn't even weigh 4lbs and maybe 5 with it all boxed up!

The shame

Holy Crap! They must have JUST updated that page as I was looking only a couple hours ago and they still didn't have any. This is definately the best price anywhere- I've been googling around. Just make sure you select the 5-9 day free shipping option.

I just bought another one in case I need it in the future. For a while, I was afraid they had been discontinued. Shoot, if you got the Amazon card you could get this for $1.80, as they give 30 dollars off. :)

cubic weight : L x W x H (In inches ) / 1728 x 10 ( ground ) or x 15 ( air ) = Cube weight !

Example.. a 5 lbs bicycle rim in a 20 x 20 x 6" box = 14 lbs in shipping costs.

Some people would ship a 1" cube object in a 2x2 ft box with foam.. such a thing would cost more to ship for a carrier than they charge if the formula was not accounted for !

( Yes.. i work for a shipping company.. )

Howdy.
Last week when all the Swagmans had dried up at Amazon, I poked around a bit on the web and found them at Camping World. They are $22 bucks plus shipping. Shipping for me was $11 , so it came out to $33, pretty close to the Amazon price. You can click on the shipping button to find out how much it is for your area. When I ordered , they said they had plenty in stock, just in case you want/ need to order one if Amazon runs out again. The link is,,, http://www.campingworld.com , look up Swagman Whee pod.

the road less travelled,

six milwaukee 28v batteries fit in the swagman box very well:

And the raw cells from many more milwaukee packs fit, too. I've got 12 packs (7 cells each) in mine, with room for almost half a dozen more.

Here is a tip for Swagman Cargo Pod users: Always keep the box locked while riding.

This morning on my way to work I hit a bump and the stress popped off the clip on one side of my box :( . I took a quick look for it but couldn't find it. When I got to work I was thinking that if I had it locked it I likely could have prevented this. Is there somewhere I could get a replacement clip? It didn't break anything only popped the clasp-thingy that hooks onto the lid off.

Here is a funny story that happened as a result.

On my way home I stopped at the same location where I believe I lost the clip. It was a on a fairly decent slope. I parked my bike and paced up and down the street looking for it but again was unsuccessful. I grabbed my bike and slowly pushed it up the hill towards home. My head was hanging down as I pushed my bike while giving the ground another scan as I walked by the location one last time. Then I looked up and on the other side of the road is some decked out lycra-man staring at me as he muscled it up the hill with a big grin on his face. I wanted to yell out "I'm not tired...really...I'm just looking for something!" but instead I jumped on my bike and gave it some throttle and buzzed past him like he was standing still - this time I was wearing the grin...the ebike grin. :)
