I was reading over on bikeforums.net

I was thinking that if he was good enough with crimping, he could put 4 of these together for a good battery pack that is still safe.

He has an amped kit but he wants to use it in college so he's probably want something lightweight and removable. Anyone got good suggestions? They say that the amped kits pull from 20 - 35 amps so I don't think those ezee batteries from ebikes.ca would be enough.

Here is the thread if someone wants to help:

He's talkin lifepo4 not lipoly's...
I already made the suggestion on the forum earlier..
College kid needs lifepo4 unless he likes tinkering around with lipo

yeah but if he takes those lipo up in the dorm and he gets caught with them. The RA's may not like it.

Read some reviews of the ones that are actually selling..

All the fun of hobbyking batteries ( occasional dead cells ), at double the price.
Worry free.. my ass!

Also, good lord, those packs are freaking huge.

I would advocate 2x 5S 8000mAh lipo + an iCharger 1010b+ over this any day. Easiest setup to deal with ever. Battery weight would be less than 5lbs. Don't discharge beyond 3.6v, and charge to 4.15v.. can't think of a simpler setup for lipo.
