Did you find a solution for the 721800? Are you suggesting the older BLE works with it? The supplier of the controller also supplied the BLE module for this controller after I couldn't connect with one I bought elsewhere.

@DingusMcGee what's the story with the signal going + & -? I thought the idea was it just added V to the output signal? Wouldn't the negative side cut power before the + added it? Seems I might have misunderstood the system.

Except his previous drive via the crank had a bit of flywheel mass from the crank plates. I've ridden my bike with a small flywheel, no flywheel & a big flywheel. No question whatsoever that big is best.
