motor to controller Phase connection question

Thank you Amberwolf for pointing me to those related threads. Perfect. From reading those threads, think I have connections correct since the motor runs powerfully, quietly, smoothly, in the correct direction, and the power levels seem not to be excessive. I'm going to chalk the previous...

motor to controller Phase connection question

Looking for some help with being sure that all is correct. I upgraded my ebike with 48V 1000W motor with a new 1500W KT sine wave controller. I connected the phase/hall wiring by color, motor to controller, blue to blue, green to green, and yellow to yellow, and my bike ran very well; correct...

    Greared motor noise

Finally got to the bottom of my noise issue. Turns out the noise is the growl of the motor under load, but in my case enhanced due to the metal flag holder. The flag holder was tightly bolted to the axle and rested against the rear aluminum bike rack. Somehow this combination increased the...

    Greared motor noise

Hello d8veh, Thank you for the great explanation of the sound due to the controller pulses. Maybe the reason I'm hearing it more lately is the 'Need for Speed' I've developed with this go-kart/trike. I will listen to the sound with a new ear next ride.

    Greared motor noise

Does this sound like an obvious motor problem? Any idea's on what this noise is? I know gear motors makes some noise, but I think this noise louder than should be expected. I have about 100 miles on my:Model: 2013 Conhismotor Brushless Gearless Mini Hub Motor 48V 350W. It runs great...

First ride, almost runs. Please help

Yesterday, took the trike out for a chilly 38F 18 mile ride, almost 100% powered by the battery, on a pretty much flat rail trial. Seemed to be running a bit slower on the 4 miles, but still ran at a good clip. Seemed to run scary fast when I started, but at the end I just kept it floored...

Tri This: The Official Tricycle Thread

Here is my trike now that it is up and running. Many thanks to the great help from members here. I really have not ridden it anywhere yet, just a few short checkout runs. It's no rocket, but my desire is that folks don't notice it's motored. I'll just have to remember to pedal a bit. Motor...

First ride, almost runs. Please help

Thank you for helping me diagnose this to the correct component. The new controller arrived today. It fixed the problem with the motor cutting out with anything but a light throttle. Still do not have a technical explanation why the 1000W controller did not work with the 350W motor, but...

First ride, almost runs. Please help

Thank you for continuing with the ideas and suggestions. Hello John in CR, I just inspected the controller soldering, didn't find any obvious shorts. Managed to get it back together without extra parts. Will retry it later this week. I don't expect anything fixed (or more broken.). We had...

First ride, almost runs. Please help

I'm not sure how to judge these results, but I'm happy that all are above 3.2V. Think I've read that they should overall be within 0.1V, they are close. At this point, I'm hoping some charging cycles will improve things. The battery has only about about 1 mile of loaded use on it. Don't know...

First ride, almost runs. Please help

Profiled to the best of my understanding the cell voltages. Still cautious about shorting two probes across the cells, measured relative to Ground then calculated the Cell Voltage. Verified the low V cells and was accurate. This is after being charged, then left sitting for 5 days.

First ride, almost runs. Please help

I thought the battery voltages were good. I'll have to check those cell voltages sometime. Seems I have nothing better to do for a couple weeks. I did some searching but didn't find anything confirming a controller/motor size problem. But I know less about motor controllers than I know about...
