Charging two batteries with one charger

Correct! ...and it may try to do that at several hundred amps if the voltages are very different. Then your Y-connector goes poof in sparks or a fire. Yes, I charge two of my packs together (14S5P and 14S6P) with one charger but those packs live together and are never separated except winter for...

Mid drive chain efficiency and longevity tips

I'm sure things are distorted but for under $15 you get a pot that will wax a chain. After all, there are dozens of sellers and Ebay would have tossed them long ago if they didn't deliver. The buyer has the advantage on Ebay.

Mid drive chain efficiency and longevity tips

Even new they are cheaper than most of the waxes..... https://ebay.us/m/rO75Wr I've tried to convince myself to use wax but I just can't seem to justify the benefits over the added hassle. After all, chains are pretty inexpensive and only take a minute or two to lube with something like...

[USA] Will Tariffs come about and lead to higher priced ebike parts

    Bafand BBSHD ongoing parts availability

I too run a BBSHD that's getting close to 10,000 miles. I opened it up at 9,000 miles even though everything was fine. I cleaned and regreased (Mobil) but there wasn't anything else to do. I have a spare nylon gear for it (which is about the only part you need to keep on hand) but it wasn't...

Should We Be Worried About EV Battery Life in the Long Run?

Actually, real-world use show that EV batteries are having a longer life than predicted. The daily habits of short hops and partial charges are adding considerable battery life compared to expected results from lab tests.

BBSHD Spacer Between Mounting Plate and Bottom Bracket

Usually a slip on the chain/sprocket means it's time for a new chain and cassette/freewheel. Leave a washer in and monitor for movement. I don't mean movement between housing and chain stay (but that should be watched) but movement of the BBSHD in general as the spacing washers tend to allow a...

Maxxis Hookworm still best eBike tire?

I wave the Schwalbe flag. Marathon and Marathon Plus tires have been amazing for me. I'm a country cruiser. I like 40-60 mile rides and all of that are on the shoulder of a highway running over not only trash, glass, and debris but the stainless steel thread shards from failed truck and car...

BBSHD Spacer Between Mounting Plate and Bottom Bracket

There should be no movement of the housing or the rear chain stay so the clearance can be almost nothing. Are you already fighting alignment issues? Takes quite a bit of misalignment to be a problem. My misalignment was cracking Leckkie Rings under maximum loads but still ran fine. (When the pic...

BBSHD Spacer Between Mounting Plate and Bottom Bracket

What he said^ I'm not sure which way the Stabilizer bar isn't straight but they are always meant to be bent and tweaked a bit. Here's a pic of the way mine sits with the BBSHD-

Does Anyone Know Anything About Video Home Surveillance?

I see the discussion has been mostly on hardware. On the flip side, Blue Iris is the dominant security/cam software on the market these days. Active with a large user base and handles any cam. https://blueirissoftware.com/

    Battery voltage and charging modes.

This is most probable. The current at the end of the tapered charge cycle is almost nothing so that when it does finally end there is no drop in voltage as there was really no current being supplied at the end anyway. Most chargers start tapering off current quickly after 90% charge is reached.

What is a good budget spot welder?

I thought it was also but every time I see it sold there are no bus bars running along both sides and doesn't have the remote switch which makes me think it doesn't have the bigger capacitors, etc. There are quite a few videos on YouTube with the ApplianPar welder or its equivalents. Hard to...

What is a good budget spot welder?

The Wise Maple unit on Ebay did NOT have the improvements (brass bus bars, larger caps, etc.) The ApplianPar does have those improvements along with a plug for a foot switch. This is the one I liked - https://www.amazon.com/ApplianPar-Portable-Machine-Equipment-Battery/dp/B0BKL5TVY2 ...and I...

Newbie looking for confirmation she’s not crazy before first conversion

Right on that link/site you can choose to add a 20 ah battery where they claim to use Samsung cells. If that's truly the case, the price is good and all the electrical connections have been dealt with for you. How to ensure they are Samsung cells? I have no idea...... I'm the owner of a BBSHD...
