Highest tooth count for BBSHD chain ring?

Now here's what I'm talking about! (Just kidding. :ROFLMAO: Full video here.)

    Anyone used this discharger?

The higher the discharge rate the lower ah you will get. You need to pick a rate you can use across as many devices as possible even down to individual cells. 1 amp is also common to many other testers which helps to discuss apples-to-apples so to speak.

Heat Shrink and Padding Battery Pack - Why?

A Dremel type rotary tool is versatile and inexpensive.

Heat Shrink and Padding Battery Pack - Why?

Sorry, but you probably will. My favorites.

Heat Shrink and Padding Battery Pack - Why?

Actually, those holders that I linked to you can nip off the four little tabs that hold them at the end of the cell and then you can slide then to any position on the cells.

Heat Shrink and Padding Battery Pack - Why?

I've always used these 18650 battery holders for all the batteries I have built. Common wisdom is not to let the cells be able to touch each other. If you can do that with fish paper and are sure they won't chafe?????? The results are pretty serious if you make a mistake.

Heat Shrink and Padding Battery Pack - Why?

No, I'm afraid not. You should watch some YouTube videos on the materials and processes used to heat shrink an ebike battery. The video below is using the heavier rubberized heat shrink tubing we discussed above.

Heat Shrink and Padding Battery Pack - Why?

All the packs I make that run on a rear rack sit on a sheet of 1/2" closed cell foam to dampen the shock. Sitting on the rack, space is not a huge issue. I also use a much heavier shrink tube than the shiny blue PVC stretch wrap tube. The blue stuff just does not hold up well.

Slim solderless 216 Wh 13S1P pack knocked me off my horse (21700 Moli P45B)

Interesting battery concept. I like it. Some people don't understand the power of neodymium magnets. Small ones can pinch to the point of drawing blood. Large ones are dangerous.

BBSHD Voltage Problem Firmware Update & Instructions

?????? volts x amps = watts 48v x 30a = 1440 watts 52v x 30a = 1560 watts How can you say they are the same? Are you struggling to understand basic electronics?

Looking for a dc dc converter 48v 12v with usb

Just about the same thing I use for 12 volts but I think mine is this one. My old Bafang C10 display from my BBSHD provides USB power.

    Battery or controller?

Arrruuuu? I put packs away for the winter and they drop a couple of tenths of a volt by spring. A couple of tenths in months, not days......

Can you use custom probes with a Kweld spotwelding kit?

Careful, these are usually a variable rheostat not an on/off switch.

Can you use custom probes with a Kweld spotwelding kit?

I found an inexpensive foot switch to be more convenient. Leaves the hands free. Something you may want to think about.

    Building my first e-bike, questions

My favorite. I'll dismount while rolling at a pretty good clip and curl my left foot around my right ankle while standing on the right pedal. Then just step off when fully stopped. I mention the curl as I used to drag the left foot and tended to get it caught under the right pedal or...

    Building my first e-bike, questions

Heh - Mine's floppy summer shorts. Catching on the seat on dismount. Brought me to the ground a few times but at least I was stopped. I try to stick to padded riding shorts to avoid the problem.

    Building my first e-bike, questions

Thank you! Watching everyone at the stop light put a foot down I was starting to think it was just me that couldn't touch while seated.

    Walking Tractor

Classic 2-wheel walking tractors are very popular in Europe (Italy especially). Check into a used BCS, Ferrari, Goldoni, Bertolini, etc. and maybe re-power it(???). Then you have the whole array of modern implements available for it. I used to drive a Ferrari every day. A lot of strange looks...

    Anyone used this discharger?

Are you testing an ebike battery pack or individual cells? The selections on the Atorch controlled by the buttons are a bit confusing but after you work with it a few times it becomes second nature and you can rapidly click through them. Be sure the battery you are testing is fully charged and...

    Cheap LifePo4 storage battery ?

I watch a bit of Will Prowse on YouTube and he has been amazed lately at the quality and price of these type of server rack type batteries (not too different than what they call a golf cart battery here). Both price and quality keep improving. Although not Spiderway, you can catch one of his...

    BBSHD scratched axle

Then those should be replaced and packed in Mobil 28 or better along with a new seal. If I recall, there are two bearings there. The roller bearing on the shaft and a thrust bearing(?).

    BBSHD scratched axle

I would run with it. It won't hurt anything except maybe slowly get worse. I can't see it would bother the bearing or the seal much at all. In the mean time stop by Aliexpress and get a replacement for $20 so your ready on the next tear-down.

Can you parallel 2 battery packs with 1 BMScommon port and the other separate?

I did this for a while. Same 14s except 4p and 5p. The 4p was a Luna pack with separate charging port which I used to charge both packs. Problem was that the output of the 4p Luna pack was always less that the charging input. The other pack (5p) would never fully charge or balance unless I...

Good thing most of us don't pedal

Hmmm... Not too worried about testosterone. These days it's PSA (prostate-specific antigen). It spikes when I ride heavily. Prostate takes a beating on 75 psi tires. I have to time my PSA tests away from my riding season(s).
